Creams Cafe Tunbridge Wells — Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells

Visited on Saturday afternoon. Was wondering why it wasn't overly busy when we arrived. Probably have established why. Before we entered there was a man smoking a cigarette beside us, smoke was blown right beside us, we went to enter Creams and he walked in ahead of us. I thought he was a customer, he worked there. No allowing "Customers" in first, he did. No evidence of immediate handwashing after he went behind the food counter either. I asked my wife if she wanted to leave, but the consensus was if he was scouping gelatio he's not actually touching it. Placed our order, waiter was very confusing, to the degree my step-son ended up just ordering a Coke. Visited the loo, although the mirrors were very brilliant, the unisex toilet had all yellow staining around the seat. I went to pay, it was £56!! We were in a hurry as our car parking ticket was going to expire, so my wife checked the bill on our way home, it was wrong!! We had been charged for something we didn't have... we visited creams and as soon as we walked in it was awful. At first they was not going to let us in because the staff member told us that it was because of the play pit however they let us in and there was lots of seats available. Secondly, the member of staff which served us was impolite and he knocked my drink over and did not replace it. Once we had ordered our food it took about 45 minutes too come out and they all came out separately, he then gave us plastic knives and forks and told us there was no metal ones left. Then a member of staff rudely approached us and asked for the receipt of a milkshake which we had clearly bought, once he had seen the receipt we was not given an explanation he just rudely walked away. The time our food arrived it was cold and not very nice, the pancakes were hard and not enjoyable. We asked to take some of our dessert home in a takeaway box and they were very rude about it and looked at us as if we were stupid and were reluctant to give it to us. Came here for a birthday & cannot fault the service. As soon as you enter this colourful establishment you are welcomed by very kind staff who assist you to a booth or table from there you have a wide variety of sweet treats to choose from at very reasonable prices, you order at the till then await at your table for what you ordered I be delivered, I had opted for an classic Oreo shake & white chocolate waffe which were both delivered in around 7-8 minutes so not long at at all, the wholes table of 4 of us got our food in under 10 minutes. The staff were kind enough to add a special birthday touch to my friends food which was nice & added to the experience. Overall we left happy & content & will definitely be coming back for more next time!
