Pleasant Cafe — Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells

We went for English breakfast as we were hungry, the food served to us was all submerged in greasy oil. There’s no effort to strive and serve healthy cooking. Grease like this (Cheap vegetable oil) guarantees you heart disease! It wasn’t tasty at all. Bacon wasn’t crispy, beans, tomatoes and eggs were swimming in oil. There’s no choice of runny egg or other. Cheap thin white bread, no option for whole meal etc. I couldn’t finish my food- such a waste of our money. The atmosphere wasn’t pleasant either with the loud regulars popping in being loud and embarrassing. Avoid at all cost. Spend that money...

A 'local' type cafe, situated just up from TW Station on Mount Pleasant Road. Overall, a great breakfast and plenty of it - the plate was full so no complaints there. I had option #1 from their menu board on the wall behind the counter. In October 2025 the various options for cooked breakfast were all priced at £8.80 which included a cup of tea or filter coffee. On that note, I didn't feel the coffee was that good. It could have been out of a jar, quite frankly - not a strong coffee taste, something more like an instant one. So, my advice to the cafe, more coarse filter coffee please...

Not very pleasant. I've come here a few times. Today I parked in the spot out front to drop someone off, and got an earful from the lady behind the counter - scowls and shouting from the off. That matched her demeanour the previous times I've visited.

Upon leaving, a much more reasonable chap came out and made the request gently and politely. I spose I'll give it one more chance.

Doesn't have a toilet, food not great so far, not good value. Well...
