We love Mediterranean cuisine and especially Turkish cuisine. Recently we visited Hattusa Tunbridge Wells Turkish restaurant and I will say we had an acceptable experience but we will not visit this place very soon. The restaurant has a good location with Camden Rd Car Park nearby. On our visit the restaurant was not busy at all with most of the tables being empty, although the staff had quite an ambiguous attitude, instead of being welcoming they were like surprised that we want to step in and have a meal, it was a bit funny to me. This is more like a management issue showing a lack of welcoming procedures and training for the staff. The food was acceptable, with the meat not being properly cooked. I did eat plenty of times from Hattusa Tonbridge and the food was a lot better. Our waitress was well interested but you can see the lack of professionalism, again management issues. The place looks nice but definitely needs improvement considering it is a restaurant and not a Kebab shop. I stepped in Kebab Shops looking a lot better then this restaurant. For what it worths we will give it another chance in a few months to see if there are any changes. For the moment the restaurant practice the same prices like other restaurants in this niche but there are other a lot better in the area, so check the map. Another thing, if you're eating here check your bill , the service charge is included. I do believe in tipping, tipping is your feedback for good services and if you are satisfied you should leave at least 10% but service charge is disrespectful towards the customers as they are already paying you service charge when you sell them drinks 300% more expensive then the same drink from the store. The difference between buying a beer from the store with £1.6 and buying a beer from restaurant with £6 is service charge. Overall we were not impressed but we are looking forward to visiting Sevenoaks branch to see if there are any...
Read moreAvoid this restaurant. If I could I would give zero stars. I ordered for my husband and I from deliveroo. The total cost for two mains, 2 cold and 2 hot meze was £48. I ordered the sarma kuzu beyti which is served with yoghurt and Bulgar rice. I even called prior to placing the order to double check as I love Bulgar. When it arrived I had no rice. I called the restaurant and the guy was not the least bit surprised and said yes we gave you salad instead, didn't you get the salad? To which I replied, I ordered a salad as an extra because it didn't come with salad. Basically they advertise the dish falsely. Probably to save money here and there. He asked if I want it added to the next order which I said no to obviously and then he asked if I was local hinting that I should come and collect the rice. I said I wanted the rice delivered, pointed out that he hasn't even apologised for all this all while the food is going cold and after a long conversation he said he would get it to me asap. I also reported this to deliveroo. 30 minutes later the food was stone cold, mine can't be heated up because it's covered in yoghurt, a lady called to say they aren't sending the rice because there's nobody available and they have decided to refund the dish. I insisted that I wanted the rice but they said they couldn't do it. My husband asked for a refund of the entire order and she said she would speak to deliveroo but I doubt she will follow through. She was resisting this option. Being half Turkish I would say the food was ok but nothing special, quite bland, the side salad portion was the tiniest salad I've seen, the bread for the cacik and hummus was half the size portion you would get from anywhere else. I will stick with Istanbul restaurant on upper Grosvenor...
