Fry-Inn — Restaurant in Upton-by-Chester

So, I've visited here 4 times since it being recommended to me, to indulge in Sweet & Sour King Prawns with Fried Rice, A Mixed Kebab, Cod, Chips, Battered Sausage & Scampi and again, to enjoy the Sweet & Sour King Prawns (as it was so good!)

The Sweet & Sour King Prawns with Fried rice is lovely and tasty; the prawns are coated in a light batter served in a large container together with vegetables, pineapple and the sauce, the rice being well cooked and very more-ish and in the same size container.

The Mixed Kebab was good and definitely one of the better kebabs I have tasted in recent years, served with chips and fresh salad and any sauces of tour choosing, (I went with chilli sauce). Again, the portion size is very good.

The Fish & Chips were also very good, the battered cod wasn't greasy and tasted lovely and fresh, with a good texture. The chips were also very well cooked and very more-ish.

All in all, the quality of the food and the portion sizes are great value for money and the staff are also welcoming and friendly, even when very busy, so, if you're in the area and are in need for some takeaway indulgence, then this is definitely a good place to go, covering a really good range of...

If I could give no stars I would, can’t speak for the food however I did notice the fish get left in the cabinet, as opposed to cooked fresh to order (not sure where the fresh part comes in) tried to order fish and chips, told they don’t take card (yet there happy to take money from online orders and lots of comments on here that they take card over £5 ?) I didn’t have a card on my only my phone. Told them I’d have to leave it to be watched by three members laughing and joking staff through the window getting into my car. No smile, no apologies, no mention of near by cash machines. The food MAY be ok but these people do not deserve your hard earned money. Given there love of cash only I’d advise inland revenue take a good long look at this business, only here as the best fish and chip shop in Chester (Weston grove) is closed on a Sunday probably because there amazing customer service tires them out. Food was very bland.

I ordered mini sping rolls as a side and it didn't specify it was meat so u ordered them. ( through just eat)

Once receiving them I could taste that there was some sort of meat so I phoned up and they have pork in them, ( now I don't eat pork due to religious reasons) the manager/owner said that it should say it on the menu which I did not see and that I should of called up and asking, but why would I phone and ask if it didn't say meat also I don't have any allergy to have to phone and check.

His attitude was so rude he did not care about happened and only said he can understand because he's a Muslim and also doesn't eat pork but yet dose not seem to care that it happened to me.
