Since its changed over to this food the place has been a disorganised mess. They have 2 sometimes 3 separate queues for the food and ice cream but there is no indication of this so you can queue up for an indefinite amount of time, then get to the front to be told that queue is only for drinks and ice cream. To then be told to go queue in the other queue. You wait in the other queue for another 20 mins and be served - eventually by someone. The staff all look either over worked or chilling out - all seem miserable, and not many seem to know what they are doing. We ordered a kids burger for our toddler, after fairly long wait we were served an adult chicken burger thing that may have been one of the cassowary birds that recently passed - we suspect. *it was a really hot day when we went and an hour or two before close so they should that could have been a factor in all the...
Read moreAfter a lovely day at Chester Zoo we decided to get something to eat. We were pointed to the Manado street food.
We ordered hot dog and.a plant based burger. Firstly the food was almost stone cold. The staff were lovely and changed it for some hot food
The burger was served on a dry, bun, the burger looked so tiny on a big roll with a bit of lettuce & tomato (the best bit). It was dry and tasteless.
The lady I was with found it extremely difficult to eat the hot dog (she can only use one hand) it was impossible to eat due to it being smothered with some kind of garlic sauce all over the top of the roll.
She ate a few chips, a sausage and a lemonade. This along with my burger which was quite honestly the worst plant based burger I ever had and barely fit for human consumption cost £25.50 pence. My advice is to take a...
Read moreUsually wouldn’t eat at any of the restaurants at the zoo, but didn’t have enough time to make me and my partner some packed lunch, so we decided to check the street kitchen out for lunch whilst at the zoo. I thought the menu looked ok, nothing impressive, but tbh there are so many seats at the street kitchen, so it does make sense. Me and my partner both ordered the Manado Honey Sesame Chicken and a side of vegetable spring rolls. We both thought the food looked quite decent tbh. We did try think the chilli’s were quite spicy, but it did make sense as the place was East Asian inspired food. For the price, I think it’s not too bad. Although I would definitely go to the Oakfield restaurant next time as it’s not that much more and the food looked...
