Visited for the first time this evening on a Monday eve. My wife, daughter, and myself sat in the restaurant, haven just turned up with no prior reservation. This was not a problem. We were met by a lovely welcoming lady who escorted us to a choice of tables. The lady was very attentive and we soon had our drinks and shortly after, our main meals. I had the mix grill, which was piping hot and absolutely lovely with a peppercorn sauce. My wife had a lovely gammon steak which she happily polished off and my daughter had the sausage and mash, which she also enjoyed. The meals were all very tasty and filling. We added 3 cokes, a side of chips and onionrings. The staff were helpful and informative regarding menue options and recommendations. The total bill was just short of £40 which I thought was very fair. There was a car park with an extension to the rear. Remember to register your car on the screen inside the restaurant for the free parking. The toilets were positioned upstairs and were clean. I would recommend this restaurant and will visit again when in the area. It is also very close to the zoo, which is very handy when visiting there.

Had our evening meal here as we were staying locally in the Brook Mollington Hotel. We like the 'Sizzling Pub' chain so visited here. I ordered the serloin steak on a skillet. When it arrived it was by no means 'sizzling" and the onions were practically raw. The steak was sitting in a pool of water in the skillet. Within a couple of minutes a member of staff asked the obligatory " Are your meals OK?" Upon a "NO" answer he quickly, without fuss took my skillet away. He returned it 5 minutes later perfectly sizzling and perfect onions. Great customer service 👍👍. My wife's Chicken Tikka was superb also. A very busy family pub and would recommend if you are in or around Chester

Visited The Wheatsheaf after a trip to nearby Chester Zoo. Food was fantastic - freshly cooked to perfection, piping hot and served quickly. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals immensely. My coffee was delicious, much better than the one I had at the Zoo and not overpriced. The service was just great, staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and attentive even bringing crayons for my daughter to do some colouring in while she waited. The pub was very well maintained, tidy and clean. Highly recommended, thank you.

It was my first time visiting this place, and it was incredibly busy and crowded. I wanted to share my experience because I think it might be helpful, especially for the person who served us. He was such a lovely man—his name is Danny (I found out from another staff member). I’m not sure if he was the manager, but he was dressed very professionally and carried himself in that way.

Although there was quite a long delay with our food, Danny came over and politely explained the situation in the kitchen. To make up for it, he kindly offered my husband a complimentary pint, which we really appreciated. We were seated at table 20, and nearby there was a lady with a large group at table 11. She was unfairly blaming him for the delay and being quite rude to him, even after he had explained what was happening. I’m pretty sure she might have put some bad reviews on him as she was telling to the man who was sitting next to her.

After he left, that same woman began making racist remarks about him. I strongly feel the company should protect its staffs from this kind of hateful, discriminatory behaviour. I felt genuinely sorry for him—during such a busy peak time, he was rushing around doing his best, like a headless chicken. I hope the company should take the correct steps to make the...

This was our local Booked this for my Birthday meal with my toddler and friends Arrived 20 mins early so went to the bar to grab drinks Only to be informed by the man serving ‘children can’t be in the bar area’ so where do you sit if you want drinks as we are early for our table his response was ‘well kids can only be in the pub if you’ve booked a table ‘ which we had but we was early so where do we wait ‘ well it should be ready but kids can’t be in the bar area!’ Got seated and then the app wasn’t working unless you went outside for signal as WiFi system you’ve gotta sign up for Sky WiFi now System was then down again informed by the man at the bar and discount code not working via the app The host also repeated that children can’t be in the bar area So if you’ve not booked a table children can’t be in there with you.

We’ve been going there for years and never had issues before But since refurb new management etc clearly this is not a pub for little ones / family’s with young children If it was not for my birthday I would of walked out Honestly was shocked with the service and their lack of customer service and the tone used toward customers. once food finally arrived no check backs, we eat and left Very unhappy birthday to me Not...
