Galatea Brasseries — Restaurant in Uttlesford

We had a wonderful experience at Galatea today. We had planned to eat elsewhere, further out from Dunmow but were let down, and needed to find a last minute alternative (within the next 30 minutes for a party of 8!). I searched a few venues, but the vegetarian options were incredibly limited for those in our party. Came across some good reviews of Galatea so called on the off chance, and the lady on the phone was incredibly helpful and managed to rustle up a table for our 2 families of 4 to sit together. From the moment we came in, the hostess (Kamala, I believe) had an instant rapport with the kids, and was so incredibly kind and considerate. The menu offered a very reasonably priced and varied selection of dishes; ranging from breakfast, brunch and Turkish dinner options, and lots of choice for vegetarians. Everyone's food was delicious, and we felt attended to the whole time. It's a very cosy venue, but there was a real local feel and so welcoming. Been here three times, 1st time would was nice but the other two times it was very average at best unfortunately. Food temperature not hot enough when it comes out and just nothing great about it, could serve the same at home yourself and for the prices you pay its disappointing.

The staff are very friendly and the service is good just the food is letting it down.

Their toilets are also in need of a desperate clean and they have a giant kitchen tap on a tiny basin so the water goes everywhere.
