Fantastic village cafe. Plenty of homemade cakes and food to choose from. Jams and trinkets to buy too. A small covered courtyard allows dogs so we, my goddaughter and pooch had a lovely lunch. They serve an all-day breakfast too. Not too pricey either. The menu has a great selection offering 3 items for the Little ones. Sandwich (1/2) and 3 sides. Ideal as I hate waste and begrudge paying for a full adult's meal. 🙄. My goddaughter chose a ham sandwich, cucumber, crisps and cake. She ate the lot with a banana milkshake to boot. Lovely. The cake was a full portion. Unfortunately during our visit, she grazed her knee tending to pups. The staff were attentive enough to notice enquiry if she was OK and got her a plaster immediately. Read moreMe and my Husband have been eating at Meadow Hill for a couple of years, (I'm veggie & he's a carnivore) I can honestly say we've never been disappointed, the food is just fantastic, you can tell the owners and staff really care about the food and service they offer, the food on the regular menu is soooo good but they also have specials which are always interesting, varied and gorgeous! the service is perfect and we have always been made to feel looked after and valued as customers, we absolutely adore it here..........don't even get me started on the cakes!!! Read moreI visited Meadow Hill on my last visit to Great Dunmow in early 2020 (I live in Ireland) so I knew that they were the perfect people to provide a birthday tea for my aunt who lives nearby. I emailed and received a wonderful response from Carole. She put together a hamper that exceeded all expectations and was, according to the birthday girl, truly delicious.
