Came across this place yesterday whilst visiting the area. Loved the deco, coffee was great (especially the matcha latte). Had a slice of lemon & elderflower cake, coffee & walnut cake - both cakes were moist and delicious. Only gave it a 3 star because the atmosphere was not great…. Upon arriving, the lady greeting and serving was polite and friendly. However, after being seated, you notice in the background (counter area) there was a gentleman clearly in a mood! Huffing puffing, slamming plates, coffee cups, talking under his breath. Although watching him, when customers come in, he appears polite with his words, his actions could have been more professional… itself a shame really, because what would have been a great experience was let down by service. Maybe he was having a bad day? However, take time out…

I accept that they were busy on a Saturday morning, but the service here was very slow, all we wanted was a hot drink. First we were directed to a table with no chairs, then had to wait 10 minutes before being able to place an order. Then another 15 minutes before just the tea turned up. Bizarrely, it was served in an open glass jug, no choice on strength and cooling rapidly. There was no milk either and minutes ticked by waiting for that. That wouldn't have been so bad, but my husband's latte then took another 10 minutes and in the meantime I'd nearly finished my cooling tea. Worst way I've ever seen tea served. The coffee was delicious, the only saving grace. It was incredibly noisy, but this, at least, wasn't their fault.

Superb! What a welcome departure from all the over priced generic coffee shop franchises (most of which are also present in the town). The most delicious, homemade cake I've ever tasted and deliciously different milkshakes. The flat bread bread chilli chicken was fabulous. When the bill came i was so pleasantly surprised we bought extra to take home.

Have been to 96 degrees a good few times now and starting with the positives the coffee never fails! Absolutely delicious and made perfectly.. also nice that they now roast it all on site! The food was delicious and I really enjoyed it.. There are a few things that could improve the experience further though.. A few fresh pastries would be a great addition to the counter just for some variation as a coffee and a croissant is hard to match. The waitresses whilst effective weren’t overly charismatic or enthusiastic. Also if going for coffee in cowbridge I’d like to see an upgrade to the creased paper menus as this seemed a little cheap and would be an easy solution.. especially when paying money for breakfast and coffee. Also would have been nice if the coffees came out at the same time. A few things to improve on but overall this place is really worth a visit and we’ll...

Have enjoyed numerous visits here, but today’s visit was more than disappointing. Service was apalling. I ordered beans on toast with cheese, which was tasteless. No salt and pepper available on the tables. My husband had a bacon bagel, which was nice. Attention to detail was shocking. And when I say detail I mean no sugar or spoons provided with the coffee, had to ask. No napkins or knife served with the bagel, had to ask. My beans on toast came out five minutes later than the service of the bagel. No knife and fork, had to ask 4 times. Had to wait another 5 minutes or more for a knife and fork. Ordered a soft drink which was never delivered to the table even though it appeared on the bill. They definitely need to invest in people. Starting with training their very young waiting staff. Wont return...
