I have visited this restaurant twice recently and on both occasions the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. However other aspects are not so good. On the first occasion as one of a party of 4 I ordered one of the banquets. The soup and hor d'oeuvres were served promptly and we then waited for the crispy duck. Time went by and we told ourselves that we were just being given a break. After 30 mins it was suggested that they had forgotten about us. We began asking the staff if we could please have the next course but it was still some time until the duck arrived. The main courses were eventually served but my wife and I both thought that there was insufficient food for 4 people. On this occasion the food was OK but nothing exceptional. Before leaving we were told about the Chinese New Year event at the restaurant and decided to book a table. We duly attended as a party of 6, my wife and I arriving first. We were seated at 6.45pm and my wife ordered a large wine. She was served a small wine. The others arrived and ordered wine but they were brought the wrong type. It was sent back but the waiter twice brought the wrong wine back, repeatedly trying to serve the same type he had initially brought. We were then to be entertained by dragon/ lion dancers in the small area that had been cleared in the room. This was to the accompaniment of very loud drumming and cymbals. It was quite entertaining for a short time but went on for over 30 mins before they went downstairs. We were now looking forward to some food but the dancers came back upstairs and started again. It did eventually end but low and behold they then began a martial arts exhibition. I must admit I was nearing walking out. At 8.15 they began to serve food. It was a set banquet..Soup, hor d'oeuvres ( not nearly enough for 6 people) followed by main course. We were each handed a plate with a small serving of what should have been fried rice, but was more like a congealed boiled rice. As a party of 6 we should have received 4 different main courses. A plate of beef arrived which was only sufficient for us each to take one piece of beef each. A few mins later chicken was served on one dinner plate. Again only enough for one piece each. (By this time all the rice had gone). We waited but it didn't seem anything else was coming. We called the waiter who told us he didn't know if anything else was coming. After some time the remaining 2 plates arrived but we had to ask for more rice. I was served one spoon full. Again the remaining 2 plates were insufficient for 6 people. A token desert of fruit was brought to the table. They brought 5 servings. We asked for the bill and found we had been overcharged. I was glad to leave to be honest. We had been there nearly 3 hours and I was hungry. In conclusion, the staff are really friendly, the food is just OK, the service is rather chaotic but the main problem is the food portions are woefully small. I don't believe I will...
Read moreWe've ordered food from here in the past but tonight is the last time. We ordered at 18:30, with an ETA of 20:00.
At 20:20 we messaged the restaurant for an update. They said there was some delay, our food would be 20 minutes. At 2105 we called and the staff member blamed a computer glitch, the time of year, and how busy they are, without any acknowledgement of how long we've been waiting.
The drive between the delivery address and the restaurant is less than 10 minutes. It will be 3 hours since placing the order before the food arrives.
We stated that we want a refund for the meal because of the unacceptable service, and the staff member shrugged it off. Absolutely appalling service.
EDIT: it's now 22:08 we called at 21:45 and they said "Your driver is on the way". We called again at 22:05 "We made a mistake, we have so many drivers! Your driver is definitely on the way now."
To be absolutely clear: we placed this order at 18:30.
EDIT: 22:28 a very apologetic driver delivered lukewarm, over-salted food.
Fun fact: London to New York on the Concord only took 3.5 hours
Last edit: It was super salty. Uncomfortably, inedibly salty. We've ended up throwing over half of our food out. What an expensive, drawn out, angry and disappointing waste of time and money.
EDIT the next day: despite saying verbally that they would refund us and telling us to follow the due process with Just Eat, they have now refused the refund. They tried to call me earlier. I can only assume that the refund has been rejected because of the bad review, and they were calling to ask me to...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting pricing, £25, the same order from Eastern Red, £15.70. Proper daylight robbery, attend if you want to remortgage your house. Disgrace.
Edit due to response: You are the only Asian restaurant to charge +£2 on every single meal in the area. I'm talking about an establishment in the small town of Mold not a city like Chester, or Manchester. Everywhere else charges similar prices; as for your food I'm sure its lovely, but so are most other restaurants in Mold. I've reviewed Mcdonalds too for the record and though their food is substandard so is their pricing to reflect that? Also, their oil prices must've gone up too but they're not charging +£2, so £5 for a small chicken burger bahaha.
You realise people are struggling with 'cost of living' and small businesses were provided with relief grants during covid. Am I getting bonus payments to make up for the 'CoL crisis'? Didn't think so. So by all means charge people more because your oil is expensive but don't insult me by claiming £2 extra on every meal is because of...
