If you're willing to wait 20 minutes just for 2 drinks and 30 minutes for overpriced breakfast this is the place for you. I've seen busier places serve in much less time and staff not spending their whole time complaining they're having a bad day after spilling a drink down themselves. The stars here are for things tasting nice but overall quality is poor. Some items of the food were cold and a chewy bagel and overcooked poached eggs were the biggest fail. Using incredibly blunt cutlery to attempt to cut through our food was impossible, resorting to eating my food like a caveman was frankly embarrassing but necessary for someone who was starving by this point. Staff should consider apologising less for the wait whilst being more engaged with the business' social media presence and rather look to improving their service and speed. Will attend in the future for takeout drinks and swoon over the dogs that were gathered outside, because frankly that's all that's good...
Read moreI have no complaints about the food. However, Rubens occupies 2 units and, strangely, only does hot food in one of them although there are probably only 10 steps or so between them. As I wanted hot food and it appeared that we were in the cold unit, it seemed to be a challenge for them to go from one unit to the other. (Incidentally, my friend had a "hot" panini which apparently was ok in the cold unit!). They did eventually relent and made the journey from one to the other. Overall, the place was rather tired and I didn't like that the toilet was right next to the eating area and the door into the toilet was left open most of the time. They said they had run out of serviettes - as we were in the middle of town it wouldn't have taken much initiative to buy some more from a nearby shop. Although our order was taken by a helpful female I felt that most of the staff weren't very friendly. All in all, I won't be returning.

Read moreAbysmal from arriving to leaving. I arrived with my 77 year old mother who was using her mobility scooter. We chose to sit outside due to access issues. I entered the shop, there wasn't a queue yet it took an age before I was served. I ordered 2 cooked breakfasts, one with brown toast, the other with white and 2 tea's. The tea's were bought out to us, in take out cups and lids with milk already in them. No preferences were asked for at the counter. My mother does not take milk. After 40 mins of waiting for our food, imagining that the time on my till receipt must be wrong, I approached the counter to enquire as to the whereabouts of our meal. It was about an hour before we actually got our food. The bacon was solid, the eggs were over cooked and all toast was white. We came away promising...
