Visited yesterday with a party of 5. Instantly thought the layout was quite unique and had an American vibe to it which was a pleasant change and quite a niche in North Wales. Whilst choosing from the menu we were not 100% sure on some of the cuts on the menu, without even asking one of the staff named David (who I assume was the manager) came over and very politely offered to explain the menu and all the different cuts and tastes etc which was a huge help and greatly appreciated (also a nice guy in general!).
Most of our table decided to try different steaks to get a fuller feel of the food and we were all impressed. We had flat iron, london broil, bullet, and ranch. All tasty, well presented, and good portions with unlimited chips. Even my Taid who is very fussy said he enjoyed it and would go back to try another meal.
The bill came to 118 pound for 5 people which included drinks, starters and sides. Again, very impressed with the price and value for money, especially in a steakhouse. Even my Taid was shocked by the low price which again is hard to come by.
Will definitely be visiting again and looking to try the burger as people on a different table ordered one and it looked amazing. I do prefer Miller and Carter at this current time, but I've been multiple times whereas only once to Just Steak, so not a fair comparison really (M+C is also much more expensive). Also, can't believe some reviews complaining about how a well done steak was not very nice and too tough, no **! Go back to ordering chicken you steak hating person! It's your fault, not the steakhouses, get a grip for ordering a leather boot.
To David and his team, keep up the good work....
Read moreWe're always on the lookout for a great barbecue restaurant and we were pleased when we spotted this new place in our local area. We eat out relatively often and it's great to add a new place to our repertoire.
Called in one Thursday lunchtime, just the wife and I. No problem getting a seat even though the place was busy. Service was great and the food was very good. Chicken wings were exceptional, nachos were great, although the barbecue sauce is a little sweet for my liking. I even bought a trio of their sauces to try at home. All in all a good experience, although I would hope for a decent brisket on the menu at a BBQ house, I was disappointed there wasn't.
Decided to call back for a second visit with the kids after school. Planned to get there 5 pm one Monday afternoon. An hour or so before arriving I checked online for table availability and there was ample. Decided not to complete online booking as a £20 deposit was required to hold the table. (Post COVID so it doesn't make much sense to me)
... Can you guess what happened next?
The place was empty when we arrived and yet we were turned away. "Not enough kitchen staff" or something along those lines. I could've walked outside and booked a table on my phone then walked back inside to be seated, bit of a joke. We ate at the Fat Boar instead and had a great time.
I understand they have a policy and, against common sense, decided to stick to it but the place was empty. Why even be open at all if you don't accept walk-ins under those conditions?
Very reluctant to go back there again, very unhappy to be turned away while the place was...
Read moreI really enjoyed my Denver Steak Cut, cooked to perfection and the side of Melted Gooey Blue Cheese, I used for a Sauce instead, it was absolute pure heaven. Pepper Sauce that came with it was no the best, bland and watery, the Just Steak Chilli Reaper, was really nice, but couldn’t stop with the Blue Cheese. I added the beef Brisket to my steak too, that was delicious. However my Partner ordered the Ravenous Piggy Tray, but got something else, a lot of boney meat, burnt steak ends, that were rock hard too, Chicken Wings, what looked like Chicken thighs and was very disappointed. He hates bones. He was so hungry he didn’t want to say, but wish he had later. Think Piggy should be all pork, Birdie should be all Bird and Hungry Cow should be all Cow really. Staff were great, really attentive and polite. No light in the ladies loos and could hardly get in, in the pitched black with crutches. I just had a hip replacement, so tried to use the disabled, but men, it was the men’s/disabled. Men are disgusting and there was wee all over the seat and floor. You should probably consider swapping them round and putting the ladies with...
