I canāt express enough how much you need to AVOID this company. Iāve had a terrible experience with them.
We ordered almost Ā£70 worth of food from Hungry Cow Prestatyn. It turned up inedible with a meal missing. I phoned and was told I could get a refund. Then I was told Iād need to do it via Clwyd Eats, only to then be told the refund had been declined as the chef stated thereās āno way the food was coldā. Absolute rubbish with a chef who clearly didnāt know what he was talking about.
Promised various phone calls from different managers to get it resolved which never happened, ended up having to chase them up myself several times and even then I was told to message Facebook groups rather than actually dealing with the issue at hand. Was told constantly it was with head office with me eventually finding out that their apparent āhead officeā was just the Mold branch who were equally as useless. They told me they could offer me a replacement for the meal that was missing but wouldnāt refund anything else (this was over a week later, think it was fair to say weād all eaten by then). This is despite them telling me we could originally. Apparently the staff member who told us that ādidnāt have the authority to authorise a refundā.
Absolutely horrendous customer service skills and awful food, Iām Ā£70 down and in the process of going through my bank for the refund instead. If youāre thinking of ordering from here, just donāt. There are FAR better places to eat in the area and the likelihood is youāll end up out of pocket and still hungry, with no chance of getting your money back from their incompetent management team who flat out refuse refunds despite it being their errors and donāt even have the decency to call you back.
Donāt waste your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame for some food a little while ago and it was fairly busy, but super loud, the music was that loud I had to basically be in the face of whoever I was talking to, be it my partner or the servers. The food was quite unappealing and disappointing. I had heard great things about the food here so obviously decided to give it a try, totally not worth it in my opinion.
I ordered a bbq pulled pork chicken burger and it was so conflicting. The chicken itself was quite nice, but the entire burger was falling apart. The bap was slightly soggy and slightly burnt with the tiniest amount of pulled pork Iāve ever seen hiding underneath a single strip of bacon. I upgraded to loaded fries which were honestly quite bland and nothing special, the beef on my fries was dry and overcooked, and for Ā£4 extra I really regretted upgrading them.
My partners fries looked significantly better than mine but they were flavourless, and he had to request salt, which wasnt with the other things on the table like sauces and cutlery. The beef burger that my partner had was dry and overcooked, and absolutely drowning in sauce that overpowered the meal. The portions were also quite small considering the price, it cost slightly over £50 for two people, a burger each, three drinks total and a side each. The only good dishes were the sides, consisting of corn on the cob and onion rings. We also left feeling hungry.
Despite the poor food and loud atmosphere, the service was great! The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly!!
I would like to try Hungry Cow again, maybe I just came on the wrong day, or maybe a different location, but I would NOT come back in a rush, and I would definitely NOT recommend Hungry Cow to others.
Definitely not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place doesn't actually know what it wants to be. Is it a bar, a restaurant, a club? Very very confused dentity. The food is really good - but the service is shocking. We waited half an hour for someone to take our food order. The girls that were serving were so unwelcoming- no smiles and no pleasantries whatsoever. The music they played (before the fab guitarist came on to do a set) was ridiculously loud which actually made everyone raise their voices to 'screech' level because nobody could hear themselves. At one point we had our fingers in our ears because the noise was unbearable. I am a massive music fan; I'm at gigs every month but I don't expect the music to be so invasive that it detracts from the whole dining experience. It's a shame because we did both really enjoy the food but everything else (including really untidy toilets with no paper towels) made our experience a disappointing one. It costs nothing to be friendly to paying customers, but the service here is severely lacking. Unfortunately I don't think we will be back; we may get a takeaway but I'd rather not step foot in the restaurant (if that is what the Hungry Cow actually is) again. It was a challenging experience. UPDATE - I was contacted by them via FB and gave detailed feedback. Didn't even get an apology. The service needs work but I won't...
