Visited Borth for a weekend away with “the lads”.
No wives were with us and we was craving a good curry!
Called up ye old Borth Tandoori and the lovely lady booked our table.
When we arrived we was greeted and seated.
No air con and a few flies buzzing around. Our first impression wasn’t great.
There was several other parties enjoying there meal so we thought it must be worth it and in any case there was no where else to go.
We ordered several dishes and requested for the chef to make it “Bangladeshi” styleeee. This is the secret phrase for the chef to sharpen his blade and get out the special ingredients!
Wow. What can I say. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish cooked.
Good generous portions.
Lovely sauces. Especially the mint sauce. Me mate Dave was gulping it down like a fish out of water.
Anyone visiting Borth must make a visit here as when you put the decor and creature comforts aside you will see the food is absolutely pukka.
Lovely waitress. A local lady with an immense amount of knowledge that she could probably work at the local tourist board!
Keep up the great service and food.
We will be back and back with the...

Walked in to order a takeaway, even though the restaurant was empty & none in the kitchen cooking. My order would take at least half an hour?
We ordered chicken vindaloo, tikka & Pathia, peshwari naan, chips & Rice.
Chicken Tikka, thin watery sauce overloaded with coconut. 1 out 5.
Chicken Vindaloo, worst I've had, slight nutty flavour very strange almost flavourless 0 out of 5.
Chicken Pathia, about the best of the lot slightly sweat flavour lots of onions 3/5
Naan very thin more like a Rotti bread, virtually no coconut flavour to it, must have used it all on my Tikka! 1 out 5
Chips we're quite nice but small portion, as was everything else. 4 out of 5.
When I went to collect my order I noticed a very dirty sink behind the counter were they take payments, a large plastic container next to the sink , what looked like Mango chutney? And lots of small sauce pots stacked next to it! Should definitely in the kitchen and in the fridge.
Definitely would NOT go back.
I am very surprised by the many 5 star reviews? I do wonder are they...
Read moreWe live in Machynlleth and struggle to find a good Indian and had not tried Borth before and recently went to "give it a go". So glad we did, although first impressions as you enter are that the place needs a lick of paint, this soon goes to the back of your mind as soon as you meet the lady that served us, polite, super friendly and obviously cares about the business, we were a table of 4 and ordered a "bit of everything" to give it a try, different starters, different mains and a selection of sides and breads, more than enough food and bagged up enough leftovers to provide lunch for 2 the next day. All of us were happy with every item we received, all tasted fresh and flavoursome and good portion sizes, lady that served us (I'm annoyed I've forgotten her name but she said her daughter works there as well) was an absolute credit to the establishment and the sort of personality that this industry is sorely missing in other venues. Absolutely worth the visit even if you are a bit of...
