My wife and I visited the quaint village of Borth on our way through Wales. It was meal time so we stopped at Oriel Tir a Mor which was a cafe inside a wonderful gallery filled with all sorts of artwork and crafted items. It was one of the most delightful experiences of our entire trip. The food was outstanding and included some of the most delicious pastries plus typical Welsh cooking. The owners Peter and Grug happened to be there that day and spent time telling us about the beautiful scenery and some of the fascinating legends of the area. There is a petrified forest of shore at low tide which dates back to the bronze age. At just this one stop, we got to know the warmth and friendliness of the Welsh. We also bought a painting which hangs over our fireplace to remind us of a...

This was our second time of visiting and have to say both time did not disappoint. It was my birthday yesterday and the staff had made up a lovely corner with banners upstairs for me and husband to sit and eat breakfast, which was absolutely 💯 spot on and a lovely surprise. The staff could not have done anymore for us from the time we got there, they were all so friendly and all wished me happy birthday though out the morning. The surrounding and atmosphere there is brilliant of course we will be going again soon. Thank you guys for starting my birthday with a veggie breakfast and hubby had full English both amazing. Looking forward next time to eating out on the balcony in the sun with that...

Oriel Tir A Môr Gallery is one of those special places that should be frequented as often as you're able....My wife and I had traveled by train from Aberystwyth and about to walk the coastal path back for our first time (not from the area). "Shall we have a coffee before we get going? Oh look, see the red parasols? Looks promising... Great light and airy interior.. Yes let's head in..." A warm welcome and choice of tables... Best millionaire shortbread ever, a slice of fruit cake and 2 great cups of coffee! "If you're looking for somewhere to eat tonight try the Medina; lovely food and lovely place" It was! (Thanks for the tip). The walk back was amazing too!! Caring service at...

Called in for breakfast and coffee on a Sunday morning. Lovely friendly welcome from helpful staff. Sitting by the log burner in a comfy chair was just what I needed. The veggie breakfast was great and doing a gluten free version no problem to them. Decent coffee set me up for the day. After leaving Borth for a walk I ended up making a drive back to bring my friend in for lunch. Food was even better than breakfast. Lovely veggie tikka and a veggie burger washed down with plenty of tea. This time we sat in the light airy room upstairs looking out across the marsh watching the light casting shadows on the hills. Can't wait for another trip to mid Wales so we can return to this gem of a cafe

A lovely building set in nice surroundings. The food was delicious, though a tad pricey. I ordered spinach, chickpea & sweet potato curry, as I am diabetic & can't have sugar or a huge amount of carbs. However it was served with huge helpings of white rice (a no no for me) and chips. At first I thought I had the wrong meal. I said I hadn't ordered any rice & chips with it. However that staff said that all meals came with rice & chips. Looking at the menu though this wasn't correct, I had the meal at the bottom of the list. The staff did not have a very good attitude towards me or the mistake in the menu.

Oriel Tir a Mor is a lovely little cafe in Borth. The interior is modern yet still warm and charming, as were the staff. The food menu is very reasonably priced (£7.50 for a full breakfast). I had a flat white, which was £3. The coffee tasted slightly burnt, but was overall an enjoyable drink, and I didn’t mind as the staff were so friendly. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Diolch Oriel Tir a Mor!
