**Update, 12/03/24: Well this place has taken a nose dive since our last visit, which was admittedly before lockdown. Plates not being cleared from tables, staff (including kitchen staff!) on their phones at the counter, food taking ages to come out, no onion rings. My partner's cowboy burger and chips seemed to have been overheld and lettuce half arsedly put into the burger. I know staffing in hospitality has been harder since the pandemic but this was so poorly organised and so sad to see. The gravy seemed to have been thrown into the gravy pot from a great height with my chicken burger (my burger and the nachos were the only positives). Really disappointed. If you're closer to Newbridge, go to the Otter (another Marston Inn): larger restaurant, bigger menu, and a lot more organised with the same amount of staff. Absolute shame as it was never this bad. We were only there for Home Bargains but will just give this a miss next time.** Lovely food, check out the mega meals selection (which are also included in the 2 for 1 offer!), busy restaurant, advisable to book, staff were friendly and great at their jobs. Apologies for not leaving a tip; we didn't have any cash on us and there wasn't an option on the card machine. Would suggest one thing to Marstons, probably have cutlery and sauce stations in the restaurant to take some pressure off of your wonderful staff. Will be visiting again. Thank you. :)

We asked the staff member who brought our food over and she said 'I work in the kitchen' which is completely understandable but she could have at least flagged this up to the bar. It was not at all busy and there was no reason for them to take 30 minutes bringing drinks over. Other than that food was lovely and will go again with hope that the service is better.

Ordered 2 rare sirloins, both came out medium well, more to the well side. Ordered sauce, they forgot the sauce. Ordered hot pudding with cold custard, came out hot pudding hot custard. Grill chef needs to be taught how to cook. Staff were lovely though, I did tell them about the issues and they offered to regrill the steak but everyone else would have finished their food by the time a new plate came out for me. Staff apologised but nothing more. I would NOT recommend ordering from the grill unless you like to order well done. Not the first time there's been issues with ordering steak but after a few years from the last time, thought it was worth another go, much to another disappointment.

FAITH RESTORED ( November 2023) Todays meal was a triumph. As on our previous visit we were welcomed ,seated and our order taken in a timely manner. Phillip and his staff were welcoming and very helpful. They took our order ensuring that as some of us were ordering steak they knew exactly how each of us wanted it cooked . The food arrived in good time , well presented and tasted delicious. Each steak was cooked to each individual's specification. Compliments to the chef for all the food. One of our party doesn't care for chips at all however we all had to admit that the chips were some of the best we have ever eaten. During each course the staff checked that we had everything we wanted and that the food was ok. We all enjoyed todays meal. Thank you. I would also like to say that if for some reason you feel you might not have had the service or a meal that you enjoyed on a previous occasion. Give the Bumble Bee another chance. We did and we were not disappointed .

October 23 Upon arrival everything appeared fine. Welcomed , seated ,ordered meal and drinks in good time. Venue was clean and staff polite That’s where the good ends. From that point on extremely disappointed and underwhelmed with service and food. To be fair the starters arrived in an acceptable time however parts were missing. So by the time we got the missing items the other food was now cold. We all ordered a roast beef dinner . Firstly we waited an hour and half for it to arrive . We asked twice how much longer are food would be and despite being told 10 mins we were at the point of leaving just as our food arrived. WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT . The meal ( if you can call it that ) was Luke warm at best and most of the plate was covered with red cabbage. The cabbage was over cooked and looked like SLOP it turned everything on the plate purple and overpowered any flavour that might have been on the plate. The Yorkshire pudding was dry. The overall meal was unappealing and unappetising. This was the worst Sunday Roast we have ever had. Definitely not worth the...

Turned up at 2:30 today to be told there were no tables available until 4pm yet the lady behind the bar had sat 2 people in front of us straight away and there were times available to book today on their website at the same time we had turned up. Make that make sense. The couple in front of us were told that it would be 45 mins to an hour wait, which I understand if it's busy but there were tables available and other people were found a table before us. How can you treat people differently to others. Please explain that to us bumble bee because it makes no sense.

Thanks Mr Lewis for commenting back to me. I would like to first comment on the fact that we were NOT told by the lady at the bar that the couple in front of us had the last table. We were told that there was no tables until 4PM, although there were 1 or 2 tables that were dirty and could have been cleaned for us to be able to have the chance to dine or have a drink at your establishment. I find what you had stated to be not the truth and for you to place a request upon my review to be removed because 'we didn't dine or drink at your restaurant' is unfair. How could we when we didn't have the chance to? Your website clearly stated that there were bookings available to be made 2:45pm onwards, therefore how can your website state that when you have 'no tables available' is beyond me. I find this response to be rather confusing and not all the truth. Me and my family used to dine at your restaurant a lot as we always had a very happy and nice meal or 2 there, however this experience has put me off wanting to dine at your establishment again. I hope you see this comment and find out the truth, rather than give some form of answer which doesn't speak any truth in it. We understand that places are busier than ever, especially with it being Christmas yet it left me and my mother baffled by how there was clearly room for 2 more paying customers. Attended on a Saturday mid afternoon. There were only 2 of us & a dog. It was very quiet in there but you’d have thought they were rushed off their feet as the service was terrible. Upon trying to order food I stood at the bar waiting for someone to take my order but the staff were more interested in clearing a few tables. One person looked at me and said “we’re just changing the barrels” so I said I only wanted to order food at which point 2 other customers who were also waiting asked “can you tell me how long my food will be as I’ve been waiting a long time”? I ordered the ultimate chicken burger and also wanted a mega mixed grill but was told they didn’t have the mega only the normal…. When I asked how can they not have the mega but I can have an ordinary one as the mega is only double of things they kept reiterating they didn’t have the mega. I was then told they didn’t have enough meat for the mega! Call me suspicious but my visit coincided with their 40% off deal? The burger was good but the ordinary mixed grill was pretty poor - the gammon & chicken were mushy and the rump steak was cold, stringy and poor quality. If it hasn’t been for the 40% off I’d have given this a 1 star. Terrible robotic service from the staff who obviously don’t enjoy their job, the food was poor, no offer of water for the dog (supposed to be a dog friendly place), and when trying to pay staff walked passed me 7 times before anyone asked if they could help.
