Mid February, absolutely freezing cold weather and even colder in Caesers. My sister suggested we go downstairs as it would be warmer- it was'nt.... really cold. There was a heater there that blew out warm air but you would have had to sit on top of it to benefit from the heat! In my experience, fan heaters are not good. What happened to the cosy little snugs we used to get in bad weather ? Waitress came and took our order. I ordered a bottle of water and my sister ordered a pot of tea for herself. We ordered our food and I opted for a wrap with pork, apple sauce and home made sage and onion stuffing. It was okay but 70% stuffing and 30% pork.My sister suggested we relocate upstairs where it was probably warmer. This we did and discovered it was just as cold. My water never came and my sister's tea arrived. The waitress ( after I asked ) brought me my water. My sister poured the 'tea' into her cup and it was a lighter shade of pale.... that is hot water with a dubious looking teabag in it. She then strained it to hell and back and gave up when there was no body to it. She did however enjoy her food...can't remember what she had. Give me the old fashioned, welcoming cosy cafe instead of these trumped up art neaveau modern cafes, anyday. Too clinical, too cold and not good value for money. Won't be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. Ordered fish and chips and a milkshake three times, where I paid extra for squirty cream. The milkshakes came with no squirty cream. When we asked the waitress where it was she replied āmilkshakes donāt come with squirty cream, even though we had paid extra for this. The fish was burned to a crisp and tasted like cardboard, with rock hard batter. Cans of pop were 2 pounds each which I think was disgusting, however I probably shouldnāt complain about this, as it was the best part of the meal. Throughout the whole meal, we were not asked if everything was okay with our food. Not even once. The fries were clearly Asda Smart Price and were once again overcooked and dry. Coleslaw was some gated carrot, dumped on a bath of watery thousand island. I did enjoy the bread and butter, even though I suspect Aldiās home brand sunflower spread was used. Overall, over 55 pounds spent on a meal that I would not feed to my dog.P.S - advice to the chef āone should not deep fry pre-battered frozen fish, as the batter is already cooked before freezing. One should oven cook the fish instead. Also one should not be charging for squirty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCaesars is a great cafe/restaurant. The food is fantastic and some of their coffee combinations are very yummy (although some a little sickly for me, but some people like that).
It's taken me a long time to write this review because I've heard such good things about Caesars and I've wanted to believe that the odd small problem I've had has been just an off day. Unfortunately today after two years and multiple visits and despite their consistency of great food, it's the customer service that lets them down. This is also this reason that I didn't feel I could voice my concerns to another member of staff or a manager. In fact the friends who recommended us approached us only days ago saying that they were disappointed with 'the rude staff' and I thought I would go one last time to give them an opportunity to prove this wrong.
I would very much appreciate a response from Caesars - I know from personal experience that a loyal customer isn't one who has never had problems, but one who has had problems and has had them...
