Since moving to the area, on several occasions we have been regulars to this Cafe, the lady who serves us has always been polite and welcoming. The young girl on the other hand, always has a frown on her face and is not welcoming. We went today at 10.50am for breakfast. They don't do poached eggs, and didn't want fried or scrambled. I ordered a full cooked breakfast and my wife ordered cheese on toast. The young girl told me we can’t do cheese on toast, so I opted for the cheese toastie which was on the menu, only to be told, we can't do you a cheese toastie because it's too early! They can cook a full breakfast, but can't make a simple Cheese toastie which is on the menu. This is the second time we had a similar situation with Mackenzie's Cafe, this will certainly be the last time we visit! The cafe wasn't even busy. Would also be nice to be greeted with a smile. Whatever happened to customer service and giving the customer what we wanted. More than happy to pay...
Read moreI was sat at a table ( for 2) which was obviously squeezed in a space so restricted that I needed to be mindful to hold my arm and elbow in It was difficult to enjoy my order due to staff service and a thoroughfare to the toilet and staff kitchen with finished trays of dirty dishes etc ... Table 6 should NOT be there, it sticks out into the aisle and is unpleasant to sit and enjoy. So I rang up Mckenzies to see if they could do anything for us though it was short notice and afternoon teas are usually booked 24hrs in advance. But after explaining that our original choice had let us down. They explained they'd be able to do a selection of sandwiches and Victoria sponge and lemon drizzle cake with pots of tea.
