🍽️ Review:
This is not my first visit to this incredible cafe and nor will it be my last! 👏
Now before I get into the food I just want to say beautiful the new restaurant is in terms of the decor, such a bright and welcoming space.
In terms of the food, everything we ordered was absolutely amazing! The pancakes were of course huge and just tasted as good as they looked!
I opted for my trusted favourite, the chorizo stack. Super spicy and just incredibly tasty and Haylz opted for the Crumpet Stack and again this was lovely 🤤
We also got to try out their new hot dog loaded tots which was also very nice!
Plus their new coolers were a nice touch too, very refreshing. I particularly liked the F'Aperol...
Read moreGreat food! Can't state enough how good the quality of the food was.
We (table of 3) were sat within 25 mins, which I thought was very quick. They even call you to let you know the table is ready.
We were sat and no one explained that we had to order through the app or at the till, so we waited in vain for a member of staff to take our order. Ordered through the app, tea arrives in a big teapot with barely enough water to reach the spout. For nearly £3, I expected more than a single cup of tea. Food arrived for two of us, brilliant quality. My wife's tea arrives with two dirty glass mugs. When I went to get them replaced, I was given the same mugs but with a quick wipe of a dry serviette. When the (I assume) floor manager asked what I was waiting for, I was met with a sarcastic "we'll have to sack the dishwasher". When we requested cutlery for my wife, who at this point had waited 40 mins for her food, the waitress threw the knife and fork to the table rather than placing it. I assume she was told we're a difficult table for wanting clean mugs. Ironically, my wife had to wipe off her knife as it was dirty, so perhaps they should fire the dishwasher.
When my wife's food finally arrived, we were again pleased with the quality of everything on offer.
As we left we heard from other tables "excuse me, we are still waiting for my mam's food" and "do you need cutlery? And a glass as well? Oh God I'll grab them for you now" so at least the bad service wasn't focused purely on us.
I try to support local businesses, especially those that source their products locally but I'll never go back because even a perfect breakfast is ruined by dirty cups, cutlery...
Read moreWe visited the amazing Haystacks in Merthyr Tydfil this week, and have to report what a wonderful experience it was. We brought our baby in pram and our dog, and we're looked after so well. The staff helped us choose our table, with plenty of room to accommodate the pram and dog, and we're so attentive throughout our visit. They really are dog friendly, as they made sure our lab was well looked after with lots of fuss and even gave her a sausage as a treat. The food was exceptional - I can't quite figure out how they were done but the eggs on the farmer's s breakfast are some of the best I've ever tasted. Me and my other half shared a breakfast between us, as we also wanted to sample the pancakes (both breakfast and pancake portions were more than enough to share). We had the Kinderella pancake stack and it was every bit as tasty and decadent as we hoped for. We can't wait to come back and try more of the dishes, especially as it is also great value IMHO. Decor is brilliant too, and the atmosphere even on a moderately quiet week day...
