Literally 5 minutes from BPW, 1 minute walk to teaco, 2 minutes from town center with places to eat and drink etc. House is split over 4 levels. Ground floor has kitchen, dining room and a toilet, 1st floor had living room, shower room and bathroom with toilet, sink and a bath with shower overhead. 2nd floor had 2 bedrooms, 1 had 3 single beds the other had 2, 3rd floor had 2 bedrooms both with 2 single beds. Outside there was pallet furniture, bike wash and a container for bike storage. Parking was a pain, you can get a car and 2x vw transporters in there if you strategically park them, the owner could cut some away from the garden to make more parking as the street is rammed with cars and very difficult to get out. Kitchen could do with a bigger fridge as not much room.
Unfortunately the house is looking very tired, the shower room has no extractor so mould will be building up... speaking of mould top floor had mould on the walls behind the bed, not sure on other rooms however but it was lucky all beds were not filled as I would not want to be sleeping next to a mouldy wall.
Overall massive potential to be bloody brilliant but the owners are lacking on maintenance.... it NEEDS to be sorted ASAP in my opinion. Probably just camp at bpw next time I'm...
Read moreBike Park Lodge was perfect for our MTB holiday visiting Bike Park Wales, Cwmcarn and some local trails. This was an entirely male trip of 8 adults of various ages who are all mountain bikers that are used to camping, sleeping in vans and generally spending more time outside riding or in the pub so BPL was perfect for us.
Yes there are marks on the walls, yes the kitchen doesn't have every implement known to man but there is more than enough for you to get by, the sofa's are not the most comfortable but the house was nothing that we didn't expect from the photos and the description. It was however exactly what we needed with enough space for us to be comfortable, excellent bike storage, facilities specifically for MTB, off street parking, everything that the house states it is. The house is close enough for you to ride to BPW if you wish and only a short walk to all the local amenities (Tesco, Lidl, Spoons and various take aways).
We were not disappointed in the house at all as it was exactly as we expected it to be, a place designed for mountain bikers (not family holidays) to securely store kit, get your head down and spend most of your time...
Read moreArrived home from a weekend at bike park Wales yesterday we had an amazing weekend, four adults and 5 kids. Staying at the lodge was the icing on the cake for us great facilities inc bike wash area, perfect for cleaning up after a really dusty 2 days riding. The house itself was spotless and really well laid out, comfy beds and nice outside seating area, we didn’t realise there were cushions in the lockbox though so sat on the pallets as they were on Friday 😂. Super secure bike storage which is great for piece of mind. We had a great time and would have booked again for this year but it looks pretty full for now. We’ll definitely be back next year though. Ben was really helpful throughout with our booking having to be moved due to COVID. 2 mins drive from bike park it’s perfect.. Get it booked folks you won’t be...
