Welsh Cafe — Restaurant in Wales

I don't tend to write many negative reviews as I like to give everybody a chance but the experience we had today here did not match the 4,4 stars it's currently got.

Off the bat, the young woman who served us was really antisocial, just did not seem like she wanted to be there working. Took our order, all fine. Food came out and we noticed we were missing a fork from the table so my friend politely asked for one. She said nothing, nearly looked inconvenienced and went and fetched a fork. When she came back, we both said thank you but didn't even get a look back.

I had the poached eggs on toast and it was lukewarm at best, felt like it had sat around for a while before coming to us. Taste was okay. My friend had the jacket potato & said that it was cold, tough & the onions she was served tasted rotten and had a brown tinge to them. She left half of it as she could not stomach the taste of it all.

The drinks we had were really nice, quite the redeeming factor of the meal. We will not...

Thought that we would try the Welsh Cafe,in Victoria St, Merthyr,What a BIG Dissapointment, Iv'e waited less time for the Pant Bus to arrive, than we waited for my ,Steak and kidney pie,Chips and gravy,to be brought to us,Granted the Tea was Hot,BUT the Pie,I have had softer Bricks,they took it away after I complained, the Replacement Pie,was a softer one,The Chips I dont know why someone put on here,that they were Lovely,They were thin Oven Chips,when I go to a Cafe for Chips,I want Chips that look like Chips,and NOT thin Chip sticks, I am sorry to have put only 1 Star on here ,but that was the lowest that I could find,Go back there only if you broke both my legs and dragged me...

Haven't tried this one before, so gave it a go. welcome was nice, plenty of seating and well lit. Saw an American option of 2 pancakes and bacon for just shy of £8. What arrived was two thin pancakes the size of a coffee cup Coaster, they may of been from the 8 pack in aldi that costs £1.79. To be fair the bacon was tasty but just chucked on the plate. I left feeling underwhelmed and somewhat ripped off as a massive looking welsh breakfast costs just £2 more. I would suggest adjusting the portion size or the price.

Service was little blunt but nothing terrible. No picture taken ad the food was gone in...
