Highlander Thai Restaurant and Takeaway — Restaurant in Wales

Ordered takeout last night from Highlander Thai, the food took over an hour to be cooked, then we were told there was no driver on so could we come to collect it. Once we got home we realised we were 2 dishes short, contacted the restaurant to resolve the issue but the girl on the phone became irate and claimed we never ordered it to begin with. Told us we should have 17 trays, we had 15. Not believing us she then wanted to come to our house to see the food, which baffled us! Then told us they’d cooked the extra dishes even though they said we’d never ordered them (work that one out) - going back to collect the missing dishes we were then asked to pay for them AGAIN, called them out on the calculation of the bill, we had already paid for them. Again they accused us of lying, and then calculated the bill again and what a surprise - that fell short of the £70 we had paid and therefor proved that we had paid for food they hadn’t delivered, but added on £7 for no reason? Unwilling to give us the food without paying a second time, we decided to leave. The treatment we received from the counter staff was diabolical. I had to ask her not to shout at me & talk over me. As for the food that was given, one portion of chips was burnt, the other undercooked, the ribs were foul, the other food bland and all of us had upset stomachs after it. I would never ever go here again. Over priced, tasteless food, with argumentative, rude and incompetent staff. APPALLING! Absolutely a wonderful culinary revisit to my favourite restaurants on the planet. This is real Thai food right on your doorstep. The Thai chef brings authentic Thai flavours that many UK resturants seem to shy away from in favour of adjusting their food to the English palette. I asked for it to be spicy like it is in Thailand and that's exactly what I got. The Thai taste plus the Thai spiciness. As an added bonus I had Thai fishcakes and they were as if i'd bought them off any of the millions of vendors dotting the Thai streets. You can sit in or have a take away, you can even have it delivered. Simply superb. We now use it every time we want a special treat. Ordered a takeaway from The Highlander Thai on Saturday night , we hadn’t had one for quite some time and were really impressed by the selection on the menu . I ordered tempura vegetables and they were really soggy , the vegetables were mainly mushrooms and baby sweet corn , my main meal was spicy chicken noodles which were really bland , I couldn’t taste any of the fragrant spices that Thai food is suppose to have, it was just overloaded with chillis .
