Box standard "greasy spoon" but not saying that's bad. Was just what I needed to fuel my hike yesterday. The lady that served me yesterday was lovely to talk to and was interested on what I was doing on the day. Only reason I'm giving this a 4 and not a five is I feel that the breakfast was rather small for the price (including the coffee) and the quality wasn't as good as some of the other cafe's around the area. However,I know it is rare for anywhere to be open on a Sunday,so that was appreciated.

Great place to stop if your on your way out to Mid or North Wales or on your way back. Great to see the bikers welcome sign. We parked on the pavement out of the way and this didn't seem to be an issue ( but it was a Sunday, Not sure if ok during the week? ) Had tea here and it tasted nice. Food looked good ( maybe next time ) nice clean toilets on site which is always nice. Seating inside or out. Can order Food via the app and they serve alcoholic drinks on site.

On our travels again and we have found a lovely little cafe in the beautiful Welsh town of Welshpool, amazing friendly staff with lovely coffee and cake, so if your out and about in Welshpool it’s worth a visit just for the homage cake…and look at the size of the portions absolutely amazing food..

What a disappointment after such a warm welcome last week when we had one of the best omelettes ever. Last week we said we would become regulars, tipped well and told many friends to give you a try.

Yesterday, on the way to Newtown we checked your opening times before taking an 8 mile detour so we could tuck into your culinary delights for the second week running.

I totally get that after a long day you want to go home but the way we were sent away with an abrupt snap and a flea in our ear that you had stopped serving food already was disappointing.

….and when I asked, on the way out, what time you stopped serving food it wasn’t because I wanted to split hairs, it was so that we knew for next time. The way the answer of TWO THIRTY was barked back with a glare that basically sad “don’t even think about looking at your watch” was quite bizarre.

Once I’d retreated to a safe distance curiosity did get the better of me and there was still a few minutes to spare. Keep in mind also that we’d waited in the queue for two families to pay before us so a bit of flexibility would have been nice.

Never mind. First world problems, I guess. Your omelette really was nice so if you want us we will be back but we won’t be coming out of our way and it’ll be nice and early so that we don’t end up feeling as if we’ve let you down by risking any deadline issues.

Genuine comment is that your food is good enough that word of mouth will generate new business and people will at some point check online for when you’re open…. a simple “last orders at 2.30” would save any confusion.

Reply to owners response …

Firstly apologies for delay and thank you for taking time to respond-we’re not tech savvy and only found it when the review reached a milestone and popped up.

It was a Saturday we came, most likely the Saturday before my review. Things go wrong sometimes and we all have an off day but how we handle feedback is key and we really appreciate your friendly and professional response.

We’ve not been back but will now make an effort again and if back to the first visit’s standards will amend rating, or better still write a further review.

Eating at a chain outlet is okay but we love to support independents and I’d encourage anyone to judge my first visit and your response over the blip in the middle and to give you a try …. food as I say was fab and the coffee very good.

With service as good as your omelette you will soon be able to change your middle name to ‘worst nightmare’ since that’s what you’ll end up as ‘Costas worst...

Stppoed here on our way through to Wales.

Food was nice, all together worth returning for. Coffee I'm told was good, hot chocolate was nice compared to a lot of other cafés.

Nice big portions, decent sized mugs for drinks.

However, what was exemplary was the service from the three young girls serving today. The cafe was busy and as we got to to the front of the queue we were politely asked to wait a minute while they sort the orders out. No problem, it was nice to be acknowledged straight away - all too often staff ignore you to wait alone before taking your order so it was a pleasant change. After ordering we decided on a very small menu change which was also met with no problem. All too often we find service to be lacking, especially by the younger generations (a sign that we're old), but all three young girls today deserve a mention for their politeness, manners and confidence in dealing with the public. Credit given where credit is due, all three of you made a positive memorable impact on how...

This place is one of my favourites to go to. Lovely place to eat with a few bench tables outside & waitress delivery. Food can be ordered by phone for takeaway. Staff friendly. Food is nicely cooked & it is freshly cooked to order, so there can be a short wait (5 to 10 mins), but that's what makes it nice. Food in generous portions & will give you a doggy bag if required. Very popular place to eat & is biker friendly. Nice & cleanly decorated. There is a customer toilet but it is up a set of short stairs not good for wheelchair users (there are pay toilets in the town hall just over & down the road by a short stay carpark) All in all a really nice...
