Food accompanied by a large birthday party that commandeered most of the lounge . Screaming children running around with balloons . Server was inexperienced and not able to answer many questions regarding food and drink . Food arrived after a half hour wait . Fish finger tiger cob was disgraceful in portion size - fortunately we had a reference/ photo from two months ago of the same dish and the difference was startling . 3 minuscule pieces of fish the width of my little finger ! It was more cob than fish . Undercooked chips and limp warm lettuce . My daughter had the roast beef / Yorkshire veg and chips £20. Just awful . Beef like shoe leather a rubbery flat Yorkshire and Luke warm gravey . A minuscule amount of veg in a small dish . £20 🙄 My beef tiger cob was two slices of cold beef and piled with raw red onion . Just shocking . The chef should be ashamed sending this food out . This is gastro pub prices but certainly not gastro food . when the team behind the bar were showed the photos of what was served two months ago to us they did agree the quality was poor . I received a 10% discount off the bill and the lady who authorised it ( saying she had just landed of the plane 3 hours ago ) said “ I hope you appreciate the discount we have given you “ mmmmmm. My son had a poor experience a few weeks ago so this isn’t an isolated incident . Am sorry I won’t be returning . The 3rd picture is what was served two months ago . The first picture was the latest offering .

Eaten here a few times but the fish and chips was really poor unfortunately. With the batter removed the fish amounted to about the same quantity you would find in a fish finger - it was not tasty and the frozen chips were cheap and fat tasting - upgrade to real chips is available for an additional fee but that takes the price to over £15... and at £14 it's very poor value for what amounted to a really small, poor quality frozen fish and nasty chips. The staff are pleasant and helpful however.

Came for food and it was decent to be fair. I'm going to sound very fussy but my sausage had no colour and looked uncooked which I was told is normal so I can't moan, but for my personal preference I'd have liked colour to the sausage skin, gave mine to a relative who loved it. Staff were great from start to end and would definitely come back.

Was rather looking forward to our lunch today after being recommended by family who have previously visited, only to be let down. Had the roast with extra meat which the waitress had no idea about when she brought it to the table. Then they forgot to cook my wife meal after she ordered first with table service. The roasts we had were definitely reheated leftovers from the previous Sunday, then to top it all off, she found an egg shell in her fried eggs, which we did get an apology for and my wife eas offered a dessert to compensate. But as she didn't want a dessert, we got one for my sister in law instead, however when it came to paying, my mother I law questioned why the dessert was on the bill, and the girl behind the bar said it was because it wasn't my wife that had it!! That is disgusting in my opinion. As someone that used to run pubs, this is not how I would have dealt with the situation and know all too well how certin food becomes after a few days compared to fresh. With all the errors and mistakes and to end paying the full bill is not right. Up to that point the service was great, friendly and hospitable, however we left disappointed and unsatisfied...

Booked a table for two for a special Birthday evening meal. Ordered the Fish Sharing Platter at £20 and 2 x Tripple Pork Main meals at £19 per person also 2 drinks. 30 minutes later after sitting at our table the drinks still hadn't arrived. When it was brought to a waitresses attention the issue was dealt with ASAP. The platter arrived looking delicious but apart from the mini prawn cocktails, the cockles and smoked salmon which were all fresh and delicious the whitebait, shrimp, prawns and calamari were all breaded and deep fried way too long, which was disappointing, leaving them flavourless and inedible. Our main meal arrived looking delicious, this was cooked much nicer. Unfortunately our experience with the sharing platter had diminished our appetites. We picked at our main meal and moved it around our plates with only a few mouth fulls eaten, before giving up unsatisfied. We asked for the bill and left never to return. This was not a Special Birthday meal to remember. However, I would like to mention we were not charged for our drinks due to being...
