Knightly's Bar — Restaurant in Wales

Visited on Sunday night and was completely disgusted by the so called Entertainer Hefin Roberts and his "comedy act" which was something from straight out of the early seventies, he started his act by disclaiming "I am not homophobic or racist but..." and then went onto something straight out of Bernard Manning's book when he was at his worst, asians were referred to as P**, gay slurs, lesbian slurs, vindictive argument with my sister in law and her party for daring to leave in disgust.

The party actually spoke with the current owners (mr Knightlys sons) outside after leaving as they tried to defend the actions of this so called Entertainer, they have known us as patrons since they were children working for their late father, as we advised Luke, Mr Knightly would never have allowed this disgrace in his time !!! He kept saying times has changed, if that is the case then why such a degrading act straight out of a comedy routine from over 40 years ago which has no place in modern society any longer.

We have visited the Long bar for over 20 years as my late Mother in law always called here on weekends when she was in Wales (for her well over 40 years), since Mr Knightly passed this place has gone down hill and lost a lot of the family friendly ideals that were in place.

Needless to say I wont be returning nor will any of the party who were subjected to the "entertainment" or barrage of abuse from this...

Well firstly, I've been coming to abbeyford every year since I was a kid, never had an issue in the Long bar before.

I'd have put a one star if there weren't two other nice members of staff serving. Myself and my little brothers went today around 6:30.

The guy, who was cocky, loved himself, making a cocktail for me, showing off, taking his time. I had a bit of a joke, stating next time just throw it in for me mate (coke on my long island), I used to manage a cocktail bar and I've managed gastro pubs, so very customer focused.

Starts arguing with me that just because I couldn't make them like that in my bar 😂 firstly, you used way to much sugar syrup and it should've been a proper sweet and sour mix anyway, which it wasn't. Never seen anyone use a cocktail muddler to make a long island either 😂.

His attitude was disgusting, I'd be mortified if any of my staff spoke to guests like that. Good luck in life pal,...

Shame about there car park. My family have a few caravans in towyn and we all meet up at knightlys as it’s close by we spend a lot of money there. Staff where nice with my autistic son. One night we visited due to my being disabled and son we have to drive and there is only one car park as there are double yellows everywhere, we parked up to find payment machine out of use. So I took a picture with my camera to so it was not working at the time we stayed for 1 hour as son was having a bad day only to receive 80 pound parking fine which I appealed only to be told I had not won my appeal even with photo of the machine and that it was now 160 pound. I emailed knightly who responded asking for number of claim which I gave with picture proof to hear nothing back. Now I am receiving debt collectors letters.
