Severely overpriced venue I.e. £7 per sandwich, over £23 for 2 sandwiches and drinks. They were nothing special and used far too much bread to bulk out the meal with poor quality ingredients. This was made worse by the fact that we were told "there is no more cutlery but as soon as it was available they would bring it to us". Furthermore, our drinks weren't served to us until after we'd finished eating. This place is overrated, badly run and mismanaged, with no justification for such extortionate prices. Avoid like the plague. There are cheaper and nicer places to eat in nearby Abergavenny and Brecon with far better service.
Thankyou for your reply. However, you have failed to address a number of issues raised in my original critique; whilst I appreciate the food is locally sourced which is evident in the price, this does not explain why you were unable to provide us with cutlery until after we had finished our meals. Nor does it address why our drinks arrived long after we'd finished eating; the appropriate response here would be to apologise and take responsibility. Charging above average because food is local is one thing, but if the service falls short (such as in this case) then this also needs to be properly reviewed in order to improve the service user experience. Please do not label constructive criticism as an attack. It is only feedback based on my experience on the day, in the hope that you will take this on board for future improvements. As someone with an extensive background in hospitality management and customer services, I strongly recommend you begin by taking accountability and acknowledging the sub-standard service on the day in question. I've yet to receive an apology for not being given cutlery to eat our meals, and for serving our drinks after we'd finished eating. I'm sure you will agree that these are basic requirements when ordering food and drink in any...
Read moreWe had a holiday on the Mon & Brec canal in October 2016 & needed to go to Crickhowell to buy provisions. Whilst there we dropped into Latte Da for a cup of coffee & were amazed to discover that they catered for a gluten free diet as well as a normal one. I have been a lifelong Coeliac & require total adherence to a gluten free diet & I was so impressed to realise that the owners knew exactly what I was talking about, exactly what to do & the mega bonus of being able to have a slice of the gooeyest, dark delicious gluten free chocolate cake with my delicious coffee. Really good coffee is a passion of mine & to have chocolate cake with it was Christmas & birthday rolled into one. We had no hesitation in going back again on several occasions, including a gorgeous brunch where my plate of egg, bacon, tomatoes etc with gluten free fried bread, looked & tasted every bit as delicious as my husband's normal one. This is a gem of a coffee shop/bistro cafe & a real credit to the lovely owners & general ambiance of...
Read moreHaving looked at their online menu beforehand and seeing that they offered multiple options of salad, we decided this would be the perfect place for a healthy lunch.
Unfortunately it wasn't until we had travelled to Crickhowell and tried to order that we were told they no longer offer ANY salads! They have changed from offering multiple salad options (see picture), to offering none at all! Every menu option that they have now has some sort of bread with it - bagel, toast, flatbread, sandwich... All bread!! If that's what they want to do, that's fine... but please don't mislead customers with an out-of-date online menu.
Needless to say, we left without anything.
Please keep your online menu up-to-date, or remove it entirely from...
