The Britannia Inn is nicely placed in the centre of Crickhowell. It's bunk house has a nice balcony looking out into the hills where you can enjoy breakfast in the sunshine and the staff are pleasant (unless you find yourselves calling them at 8:30 in the morning because you've locked yourself out of your room) In other areas a little bit of TLC was needed

There were three shower cubicles only one of which had a working lock and the toilets seemed to be intermittently serviced for toilet rolls. The biggest problem we found was that the bunk house was above the pub and only had single glazed windows shielding early nighters from the general yamma of the drinkers in the beer garden below which made it difficult to get to sleep until the pub was shut. Even if you're are nowhere near the beer garden and the pub has a DJ in you'll be treated to the chroonings of Lionel Richie or bass from the latest Lady Gaga tune coming up through the floorboards

The bunk house is probably fine if you want to stay somewhere don't have to walk far to after the pub kicks you out but if you're not much for drinking and like relatively early nights you might want to...

A bit disappointing, I called beforehand to book and check there were vegan options on the menu, they told me there were at least 4 options which they then doubly confirmed for me, this was perfect so we booked. When we arrived it turned out only 1 of the options was actually vegan and also could not have chips as they were done in the fryer with the scampi.. ! Food was pretty standard for £16 per meal for microwave rice and pretty boring chilli & lasagne. They also added the chips to the vegan meal even after much conversing with bar staff about which meals would be vegan suitable and being told the chips WERE NOT 🙈 Super cramped space for a Friday night with people constantly pushing past our table by the bar and to top it off we then left stinking of dirty fryers 🙃 It was a busy Friday night and briefly catching up with family before heading home to Cornwall or we would have found somewhere else if we weren't short on time. But seemed a popular place to drink so must be doing...

Rude staff, I would avoid this place. We were looking forward to a nice meal and a pint after we spent a nice day out at the river. To be unexpectedly told no ID we can’t serve you. I had my ID but my brothers and their girlfriend did not have their ID on them as we were out all day and not planned to go to the pub. We thought of the idea while we were out anyway at the age of 16 or 17 you can have an alcoholic drink a long side a meal and they said no to this. I’m 32 and my brothers and their girlfriend are clearly not under age as they don’t look 17 in anyway! Bad service ! Rude staff ! And they have no idea of the law. And they should know this as they are running a pub with alcohol so I’d advice them to look the law up about having a drink a long side a meal. Very Bad !, anyway on the upside there was an amazing place we found after this and there was no issue at all. , I’d say avoid this place. Find somewhere else! Theirs much better places to eat and drink...

Went here today, we went up sugarloaf mountain with our dog, and wanted to have some food after all the exercise, we found this dog friendly pub and decided to try it, they have bowls of water and treats for dogs, there were about 6 dogs while we were there and all well behaved, you would hardly know they were there. The staff were friendly as were the customers, the menu although not very large was just right, they have a great selection of burgers and freshly made pizzas, my wife and I had lasagne with cheesy garlic bread, which was delicious. The service was fantastic and it seemed to be the busiest pub in the area, I would like to go back and try their Sunday carvery as I think that too would be amazing, I would recommend a visit here of you are in the area.

What a great pub. Good food, just had a Massive New Yorker Butger and fries, with onion rings, slaw and salad on a wooden platter. Excellent fresh coffee too and I had a freezing cold Desperado with a chunk or lime. This was mid afternoon too, on a Wednesday. Do not eat anywhere else in Crick, especially the Bear, which is mediocre if you're lucky and top dolkar. We were made most welcome on artival,by a lovely chap behind the Bar, not sure if he was the landlord. Setvice was fast and accurate. Well done all at the Britannia you made our day. Da iawn, we'll be back in numbers next time, for sure. Top banana 👍

The Nicest Roast Potatoes I've had in a long time!! Popped into the Britannia Inn for an impromptu Sunday lunch this afternoon. Food came less than ten minutes after ordering, and tasted amazing. Stuffing and roast potatoes were a definite highlight. Pro Tip: if the weather's good, sit out in the back garden - a peaceful and tranquil space with a water feature and filled with bright, overflowing hanging baskets in summer. Late afternoon the air is perfumed by the wisteria growing towards the back. Great space for enjoying a late afternoon pint!
