Originally visited in July 2023 - Great little place, food is all home-cooked and very tasty, portions are generous and great value for money, staff are extremely friendly and make you feel most welcome. The full breakfast was excellent, and they used really good quality bacon for a sandwich. We watched as staff made up plates of salad etc. You certainly don’t leave hungry! Access is via stairs to the first floor, there is a lift for customers to use if necessary. The cafe is situated is a wonderful high ceiling room with windows looking out over the High Street. A great alternative to a pub lunch. It appears you can reserve tables, and may be worth it to guarantee a table. UPDATE - Visited again for breakfast in February 2024. Quality and service just as good a previous visit. Cannot recommend more highly, and will be returning again shortly.

Delicious food and the service was friendly and warm. I loved the aesthetic of the building the stairwell could do with a little cleaning, but it is an understandable situation, it's huge. I had chicken and leek pie which was very cheesy and tasty the salad was great and each element had a nice tweak to make it special. I would go again. It also has a good vegetarian selection for my mum.

Called today and we ordered chicken and leek bake, mince and onion pie. Both were absolutely delicious and will most definitely be returning when we're in the area again.

This is a unique venue and maintains many of the buildings features. The three ladies who run, cook and serve the food are passionate about both the food and their customers. Many are local repeat customers and others are part of the busy tourist trade. All are made to feel welcome and the fayre offered is supplied by local darmers and growers always cooked with love and pride. The town has been voted the best high street in UK and this cafe is one of the reasons for its success. My husband and I often call in for lunch and it is always busy. This means we can often share a table with really interesting people and enjoyable conversations make the visits...

Great location & reasonable service. We went there for breakfast & the portions were very generous and well cooked but the food is only transport cafe or cafeteria quality. The bread served is cheap sliced white and the sausages were cheap too. I have no problems with this type of food (and it was very cheap) but I can't help feeling that it should move a bit more upmarket. Its next door to a popular bakery and opposite two very good butchers so why not charge more & use their products. Just my thoughts but anyway don't let it stop you going there for a full English/Welsh...
