What a wonderfully welcoming, cosy and quaint cafe and coffee shop. I visited Lillie's yesterday, while looking for somewhere to grab a quick cuppa whilst visiting Narberth... And I can was not dissapointed. The location of Lillie's cafe (opposite the car-park by the old school) provided us easy parking facilities, free for up to 1hour for vehicles, 2 hours for disabled badge holders or for a nominal charge for those using the longer duration parking bays. From outside on its main road location right by a zebra crossing, Lillie's looked un-pretentious and well presented, with a few pretily painted bistro tables and chairs on the pavement beneath a chalk board listing a range of deliciously sounding snack and main homemade menu choices at reasonable prices, which drew us inside. Once inside we were created by very friendly and welcoming staff and a small cosy interior, that consisted of a range of seating comprising thoughtfully spaced tables and chairs and corner seating arrangements with low puffer and coffee tables and comfy corner pew seating. The mixture of seating provided us with a choice of options of areas and seating types to relax at. The thoughtful layout and spacing between each seating area/table and chairs meant even if all the seating areas and table and chairs were occupied, you would not feel cramped or have to struggle to manoeuvre past other. Customers to obtain or reach your table/seating area. The second floor also offered customers another area of tables and chairs, equally well laid out to choose from which would be ideal for larger groups requiring more than one table of 4-6 chairs per table . When ordering our beverages from the good selection of hot drinks, the range of freshly baked home made cakes on display were temptations hard to ignore!! And I soon added a lemon drizzle sponge cake and two. Toffee+walnut sponge cakes to our order of vanilla latte,, Americano and plain latte coffees . The service was quick and the presentation of our order was lovely; with the drinks arriving in huge orange coloured coffee cups and saucers and our large portions of homemade cakes each being served on quaint triangular tea plates . At just over £16. It probably isn't the cheapest cafe around, but for a delicious treat in a lovely venue, with excellent welcoming staff providing high quality homemade menu cchoices,, Lillie's provides an easily accessible and quaint. Venue for a delicious treat that won't break the bank. I would definitely recommend a visit to Lillie's if you are looking for somewhere to eat lunch or relax with a cuppa if you are visiting, or passing through Narberth . After such a lovely experience, and home-made cakes that are to die for, and the best mouth watering selection of home made soup of the day and savory snacks, we will deffinatley be going to Lillie's again next time we are in,, or near Narberth.. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I most definitely would. And need I say it, but I would definitely recommend Lillies as a 'must-do' treat whilst...
Read moreIf we could have given no stars we would have. Absolutely appalling customer service; seated upstairs next to the toilet when there was clearly seating availability downstairs. Untidy and uninviting seating- next to used boxes and cleaning products. Was told that the seating downstairs was reserve for those with mobility difficulties, however, this did not appear to be the case. Upon commenting about the seating arrangements, we were rudely informed by, assuming the woman in charge, that we were lucky to get a table- even when there were tables unoccupied- very odd. Wouldn't mind but the food was average and overpriced. Definitely will not...
Read moreUnbelievably awful. Upstairs is cold and uninviting - like a store room. Downstairs is a complete jumble, there's no room for any decent seating on one side of the cafe and it's like sitting in a broom cupboard. There are fridges and some cleaning equipment just shoved in a corner and furniture stored on its side at the bottom of the staircase. The draught from the back door makes it uncomfortably cold and you wouldn't want to sit down for long. Some food was served on a "plate" which was obviously a saucer as it had an indentation for...
