Leave your Mojo at the door
What an absolute dreadful experience!
Booked for 10.30 am for 5 adults and a 2 year old. It took 20 minutes to ask us for our order and a further 10 minutes to bring the drinks. The latte was an insipid Americano and the waitress spilt the milk for the teas. Not her fault so we continued to give the benefit.
Asking the manageress how long will we have to wait for our food, a very curt response told us that we “ were next”.
Interestingly a couple who sat down 25 minutes after us had been served and had completed their meal before ours had even arrived.
30 minutes later, so a full hour after we had sat down, we received some of our order. I asked for a sausage and bacon sandwich on white bread. I was offered either a sausage on seeded granary or a sausage and egg on a seeded granary.
When I asked for my actual order I was told that they had no white bread. Bearing in mind the place had only been open 90 minutes and was due to close in 12 hours I feared for anyone else after me wanting white bread.
At this point we lost the will to eat. I asked to speak to the Manager and we were told that Kerry, the manager was on her break and despite the fact that she had been told that me and two other customers wanted to speak to her due to their awful experience, had refused to come downstairs.
This confirmed to me that customer service, organisation and serving the correct food orders was very much low level importance to her which is unreal when it is the three things that any customer would expect as standard.
So in a nutshell, we left hungrier than when we arrived following a truly awful experience. From the moment we walked in we felt as if we were a nuisance and every interaction with staff made...
Read moreLovely food, just disappointed by the whole experience. Being from out of town but looking for local places to eat I was recommended Mojo's over other eatery's in the area. I know I had to book due to the limited space with gave the place a unique feel. When we arrived we were promptly sat down and given menus but then felt like we were forgotten about as we weren't seen to for another 15 minutes just to take drinks orders. And bare in mind this place has 8 tables max, and all weren't occupied so just struggled to understand the length in waiting time. After our drinks were ordered it did feel like a long time receiving them as well, and after working in hospitality for a few years myself the lack of attention was getting to me a little. I ordered the Croque BBC to which I was pleasantly surprised and fully enjoyed. Had I known it was that nice I would have ordered a 2. We shared a Biscoff Crepe which was nice. Not really a pudding fan but did enjoy it. All in the all the food is lovely, just let down by the service I feel. If I am ever in the area again I would prefer to have take out therefore I can just collect and go rather than wait around for...
Read moreMichelin, where are you???? We stopped by one afternoon after a long, long walk and enjoyed a sandwich recommended by the chef. Tasty, satisfying, healthy, best red cabbage slaw and salad alongside sandwich we've ever enjoyed. So good that we booked a table for chateaubriand that night after reading advert in the restroom (!!!). This chef is amazing!!! Same chef from afternoon, just one helper in kitchen pulling supplies from fridge. At night chef is sending out seafood pasta, seared sea bass, mushrooms on toast, vegetarian dishes, and the promised special, chateaubriand on a platter with rosemary potatoes and rocket (arugula). How does she do it???? There are only seven or eight tables in the establishment, and people at each table looked happy and satisfied. Our chateaubriand was perfectly cooked, medium rare, with a surprisingly good blue cheese sauce. The excellent table servers gave everyone the impression they were special including 16-month old Ivy at the table next to us. Rhosneigr is a beautiful seaside town in Anglesey, and Mojos is a restaurant destination worth the train/plane/ferry/drive. Perhaps Michelin will...
