Subject: Very Disappointing Experience During Our Booking

I'm writing to express my deep disappointment following a very unpleasant experience at your restaurant this evening.

My husband and I had booked a table for 5:30 PM. When we arrived, a staff member informed us that there was no record of our booking, but offered us a seat by the door. I politely explained that I had specifically requested a table in the restaurant area. We returned to the bar, and another staff member approached and asked what we wanted. I again explained that we had a booking and had asked for a table in the main restaurant.

Her response was abrupt and dismissive, saying, “This is all the restaurant!” in a very condescending tone. I was upset and told my husband I wanted to leave. He then approached her to clarify the situation, and she replied rudely that she had booked us in and pointed to a table, saying it was ours — though it was clearly already occupied.

None of this was communicated when we first arrived. When my husband pointed out her attitude, she began raising her voice and claimed she had told us to move to the table, despite it being taken. Shockingly, she then swore at my husband in front of other customers — which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

We were calm throughout, just trying to understand the situation, and we ultimately decided to leave due to how we were treated.

I genuinely don’t understand how such behavior can be tolerated in a customer-facing role. We came in good faith with a confirmed booking and left feeling disrespected and...

Met up for lunch and it is a lovely place they allow dogs and they even have their own food menu... My parents little dog enjoyed a sausage for lunch which looked very tasty I may add.. The menu is quite varied and whilst they have a good selection for most allergies indeed the menu is marked up if you have a dairy allergy I would give it a miss. Starters are pretty non existent unless you are vegan and then only soup or cauliflower wings... Mains were terrible I opted for Sea Bass with the vegetables sautéed in oil instead of butter they came out swimming... And new potatoes instead of potato rosti not sure why I could not have the latter but they were equally swimming in oil. The sea bass was nice but bland. Overall I ate the fish and left the rest. Sad to say as the staff are lovely and clearly not helped by a busy Chef who didn't have time to help them mark up a menu.. I wouldn't mind but I had checked before we booked that my allergy wasn't an issue and I was assured it would be no problem and no need to arrange in advance... More choices and perhaps better staff awareness from the Chef would have made the visit better. It is a lovely pub and the guests I joined had a beautiful meal so don't be put off if you are...

Went on my birthday, service was slow, despite it not being that busy. Since going a month earlier earlier the price of everything on the entire menu had gone up by at least £2. My partner had sausage and mash with peas for £14.50. Probably the most I've ever paid for sausage and mash. The sausages were nothing special just normal sausages. The mash was horrendous and the portion was tiny. For the price i would have expected a large portion of seasonal vegetables. The worst bit however was the gravy, basically brown water it was really disappointing. I had a burger again £14.50 which for a basic burger is a lot. It was an extra £1 for cheddar. The bun had been toasted until it was black in places, the burger was nothing special for the price. Chips were basic bought in chips you can't really mess them up. They had made the coleslaw, however the portion was stingy and there was too much mayo in it. It's a shame they have made their prices so extremely high for food that isn't amazing. We will not...

Good evening duckies! Came here for dinner on day #4 of our holiday. We were shocked by the limited parking out the front until we realised there was a car park behind the pub. We booked ahead so no wait for a table, i’d recommend booking ahead. There were two birthday parties behind held near our table, one of which was rather noisy, but we didn’t mind as much as their music was great! But it was definitely busy. Sadly this pub didn’t have any mocktails available so i had water instead. Food took around half an hour to come out which isn’t too bad. My partner’s burger came without any tomato relish even though it stated it had some on the menu, he was disappointed with this and said the burger was dry. My fish and chips were good. Others in our party said their food was ok. Only major issue was all the flies hanging around our table and food! But i suppose you can’t expect a pub to close their windows and doors in 25C weather. Staff were really nice! Love from lucky keyring xx

Went here for dinner late Sunday evening, and this place serves food all the way up until 9 which was a life saver. It's very cosy and cute, lots of plants and very tidy decoration. The whole pub felt very welcoming and warm, and was all very clean and clearly well looked after. On top of that, the staff are very sweet and friendly. They had the best gluten free menu I have seen in a pub, nearly everything on the menu had a gluten free option. I ordered the local GF leek sausages and they were huge, and delicious. The prices are also fair and definitely good value for what you get. Despite coming in 20 minutes before they stopped serving food, there were no problems and the food was delivered quickly and on hot plates. Overall, probably the nicest pub I have been to, and completely unexpected as we were just trying to find somewhere that was open and serving food so late on a Sunday.
