Ladies and gentlemen I present to you what is quite possibly one of the best Indians restaurants in Cardiff, Spice Island on Newport Road in Rumney🏝️

This particular restaurant is new to me as I only heard about this amazing place a few weeks ago but to the locals in the area, it's been the go to for many years! All I can say is I've been missing out! 👏

🍽️ Review:

This place is an absolute must visit if you live in the area or you are planning a trip to Cardiff!

We basically tried as many dishes as we could possibly eat and I can confirm everything tasted incredible!

All of our starters were were delicious, the Sheek Kebab and the wrap were super tasty but for us the Chicken Chaat and the sweet and spicy chilli chicken was our favourite. Both dishes were so rich in flavor! 😋

We loved all of the curries we tried, on the milder spectrum the Mango Korma was lush and the butter chicken was lovely and creamy but both dishes had flavor most importantly.

On a spicier note the Chicken Nargis and the Rajasthani Lamb Curry were both insane, both dishes were ridiculously good! The lamb curry just topped it, the lamb was so tender, honestly it was cooked perfectly.

Well... Where to start? Perfectly air conditioned as advertised, excellent modern Indian music and beautifully authentic choice of decor. But who really cares about that? Its the food you want to know about! The food itself was superbly presented and tasted as if someone threw me into the heart of India with all of the wonderful flavours they have to offer. Real care went into creating the food and I was sad to have finished eating. The staff were delightfully pleasant and quick to serve. It was a little shame they didn't spend more time at the table for me to scream how much I was enjoying my visit at them.

The price? Well it was unimaginably cheap, I absolutely feel like the experience was worth at least double the price.

I will absolutely go back and bring everyone...

Dont waste your money Tried yesterday around 6pm , ordered mixed grill all covered in red dye , the chicken was old and dry also ordered butter chicken ...the chicken was also covered in red dye. Seems they marinate all meat in the red Tandoori dye. Not much taste at all . Extra charge of £4 for the small sauces , salad and condiments that go with the poppadoms ( 1st time charged for this ! ). Also ordered nan bread and Roti , no taste at all to any bread unfortunately. Very disappointed If you want to try proper tasty authentic got to " Murchi city road " Will not be revisiting Spice...
