Tŷ Coffi Antur 'Stiniog Coffee House — Restaurant in Wales

Awful lady served us. Everyone we met in Blaenau Ffestiniog was so lovely and helpful. But this woman scowled at us as we went in, allowed a woman to push in front of us and spoke in Welsh to her for absolutely ages before eventually serving us. Then told us to get out we are closing, the closing time Is on the door!!! When I said she could have told us we didn't have long, her answer was that we'd been there a long time. I'd been too preoccupied getting my disabled dad in the door to read times. Most places politely tell you when you order. My coffee was still hot so we hadn't been there that long ! We were the last ones to leave, there was nobody in the cafe and she was talking to us in Welsh. Could not have been to anyone else. I don't understand much Welsh and have an English accent but my dad's dad was Welsh and he only spoke Welsh and no english. My dad therefore understands a lot and I asked him later what she had said.. he wouldn't tell me exactly but said it was insulting. Honestly don't go in here if you want a welcoming holiday experience. I would recommend going to the lovely lady in the chippy next door they do coffee too. Really? ... insulting English people in the Welsh language... you don't want tourists visiting your town ? What did we do ... just didn't notice your closing time and if you hadn't let someone push in front of us, we would have had enough time . Don't work opposite the scenic railway tourist draw if you feel so arrogant and narrow minded. We had tea and chocolate cake which was lovely and closing time was 15.30 so only had approximately 20 minutes inside the cafe. They were very eager to close bang on time and virtually snatched away the tray without me finishing my drink with still a few more minutes until closing time. Thought this was a bit rude.

Just to add to your reply on my comment I left. Maybe we should have come earlier and would have had a better experience in the cafe, we were looking for a property in the local area and took longer to find. Would come back again to your cafe and get there earlier. The chocolate cake was delicious. Definitely reccomend the chocolate cake....

Great place!! I was lucky enough to have found this magnificent coffee house on a recent trip to the area & it is everything a coffee house should be!
