Called in here on the hop for Sunday lunch, looked really nice from the outside, walked in and had an OK welcome from the first lady.got sat down at our table, the second lady that served us was much more welcoming, the atmosphere was non existant, no music, TV on but no volume on (no wonder it was so quiet in there), ordered food and was really looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch, when the food arrived it looked OK but went to eat it, beef was tough and chewy, pork was inedible, roasties looked and tasted like old left over potatoes, and the veg that came with it, watery swede, few pieces of old broccoli and cauliflower and as for the garlic potato....looked like baby food mushed up.We have been out for many Sunday lunches across Pembrokeshire and have never had one this bad. It's a shame as from the outside it looks like a really well run looked after place but a big let down food wise and the inside of the place.this could be an amazing place if it was ran properly with experienced manager and chefs.Unfortuantely we won't be back again which is a shame as this place has potential to be amazing in...
Read moreTurned up mid Sunday afternoon, hadn't booked as we were just passing but thought we'd try it for Sunday lunch. They managed to fit us in and the menu had an option of about 5 starters, 4 main courses, beef, pork, chicken and vegetarian and then 5 or 6 main deserts or they had three options for ice cream sundaes. Starters roughly £6, main £14 & between £4.50 & £6.50 for desserts. We didn't have a starter but they all sounded good. The mains had roast potatos, meat of choice (beloved had beef & I had the pork & crackling) stuffing ball, gravy, Yorkshire pudding, then to share had cabbage, swede, carrots and some delicious garlic potatoes. A really good main course and we then we finished with the Eton mess & chocolate brownie sundaes. All washed down with cold diet coke on a hot summers day. Pleasant team who were friendly and efficient all whilst working hard at a busy time of day. The bill was about £46 for the two of us, so not cheap, but a decent quality meal with clean and nice surroundings. Worth a...
Read moreHusband and brother in law liked their food. Well presented. The only thing were that the brother in laws egg was slightly under done. The major thing for myself was the lasagne was bland, tasteless and the pasta sheets in the lasagne looked like it was soaked in water over night. Complaint was put in and it was quick to be sorted. Down side was that I was offered either a coffee or pudding. Note the pudding only came to 6quid, and the meal was 11.95. So you do loose out. The staff were friendly but saying that, the staff were messing around with each other laughing, and the bar lad brought the squashes to the bar to refill. I found that he should off filled them behind bar, not in front of customers, plus he should of used different funnels for pouring the squash. Cross contamination. Meals were a plenty. Toilets were clean. Car park is big. Prices of food are reasonable but also over priced. 3 mains and 5 drinks, 3 starters came to around...
