The Raj Mahal — Restaurant in Wales

We ordered around £70 worth of food from here for collection, when we got back home the weight from the multiple foil containers on top had completely obliterated the bottom two of the messiest dishes of the whole order (curries). The entire contents of the bottom two curries was overflowing onto the bag and other containers making the lids soggy, greasy and because of this they had opened! After all the faff of emptying the contents back Into their original containers and plates, we realised we also had NO RICE!! After calling the restaurant and asking for a refund we were told he was “too busy” to refund us at the current time although 20 minutes prior we were in the restaurant collecting our order and the place was 40% full. The customer service was appalling, the staff were rude and dismissive, cutting the phone off multiple times and recalling to confirm bank details even thought they were repeated over and over again! Keep your expectations to a minimum. If you're in a rush or want a quick meal out, do not go here! They are severely under-staffed with the manager not allowing his one other member of staff to take orders, sit guests, answer the phone or deliver food. He was so busy running about like a headless chicken, as he wouldn't allow his staff to help. This then made him very short with both customers and staff.

When taking our order (which was finally taken over 45 mins after we were seated) he was really rushing us and saying "hurry up I thought you were ready". We then waited a further 1 hour and 15 mins for our food to arrive. The food was okay but not the best Indian I've had. However for the price of what we paid I felt the food matched as it was very well priced.

I wouldn't say avoid going here, but just do not expect the best Indian...

We had a take away, I ordered sag tikka special, quite disappointed, the chicken was very small diced and I mean small, more like mince, also the dish should have been medium heat, but it was very mild, Pilau rice was nice so was the garlic nan, over all not very good value for money, sag tikka special was priced at £10.95, overall there must have been two chunks of chicken minced the rest was onion and spinach.
