We had a great night's stay in the WB. We received a really warm friendly welcome from Fran. We had lunch and a few lovely pints of the Wye Valley IPA. The food was excellent, a complete surprise for a small country pub, the flat iron steak was beautiful, what a delicious topping. Our friends had booked the en-suite room and we stayed in the non en-suite room with the large bathroom and toilet down the hall. Clean fully functional room with a tea/coffee machine and biscuits ;-). Really comfy bed. Large car park and beer garden at the back of the pub. Thanks for such a warm welcome, we will be back.

Avoid awful food hot food served on cold plates tasteless, mash potatoes were like powdered smash carrots most definitely seen better days roast potatoes seemed like they had been deep fried and when trying to cut in half I nearly took my sons eye out as it shot off the plate. Nothing eaten off my plate so had to go and buy something from the supermarket to cook. Hopefully they can improve in time 🙄

I stayed at the Whistling Badger for two nights and what a shame I couldn't have stayed longer! THE STAFF ARE AMAZING! what a lovely bunch of people. I couldn't have been made more welcome. I really can't say enough praise for the staff watching them going about their business and looking after the customers in an exemplary manner.

The food was really good again with great service. I had a burger with chips and coleslaw and it was cooked perfectly and really tasty.

I also stayed on one of the rooms which I have no complaints about.

The whistling badger is under new management and I think it will go from strength...

We fancied a pub lunch and this place was a little way away from us, so we called ahead to make sure they were serving food on a bank holiday. They said they weren’t.

We went to the town anyway and walked past this place. There were people inside eating. So we entered, went to the bar and asked if they were doing food. “Sorry - we stopped serving two minutes ago.” It had just gone 1.30pm.l, so an odd time to stop doing lunch.

As we left, one of the locals muttered and sneered under their breath.

So it seems you are only welcome here if...
