Just popped into the Ship Inn, passing through Fishguard on a walking weekend in North Pembs. What a special little place! The 270 year old pub is tiny with low beamed ceilings and is festooned with authentic eclectic clutter and cobwebs. We enjoyed a pint of Double Dragon over a game of cards in a patch of sunlight while a log fire in the corner kept the sea damp at bay. Read moreI've just had a brilliant evening here. We are on a boat anchored in the harbour and went ashore for a couple of quiet beers. We met an interesting group of locals who were exceptionally friendly and wound up having a lot more to drink than expected. Small place with lots of character. It's on a narrowed bit of main road with no pavement so take care getting to it. Be aware, they don't do food and they only take cash - bit old fashioned but that's the joy...

Very personal, intimate, its a watering hole for locals and everyone knows each other. You'll always see a dog in there and the bar lady was lovely.
