🌟 for a fantastic location right on the coast, overlooking the harbour and another 🌟 for having Her Majesties cutout during the Jubilee weekend, its a nice touch. However, that's where the positivities end. Outside seating area is absolutely filthy-and not the kind of dirt that happens on a busy day near the sea, it looks like it hasn't been swept for a while. Sand, hair, cigarette butts, straws, etc-its all on the floor. Tables haven't been cleared for ages-and its been really really slow here for the last hour-not a single member of staff to be seen, plates and glasses accumulating on every surface. The bar lady's face was probably used in a dictionary to explain "i dont want to be here" and she really proved it how slow she moved. What absolutely tipped me over-the way she took the glasses by sticking her hand inside-i really really really don't want to drink from a glass that had a persons fingers inside. So..... thanks for that

16 July 2021: Worst customer experience ever for a place with very high prices. When we asked where the drinks we ordered 20 minutes earlier were we were told we could leave šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøThe young guy was friendly enough, but sadly lacked any skills to work in hospitality. The young girl (who told us we could leave) was just plain rude. They both claimed it was extremely busy … when there were actually only 5 tables. 31. August 2021: yeah, more than a month after our incident "the owner" seems to have managed to speak to "other customers". Anyhow, I just wanted to add that I have no reason to lie .... and I assumed it was quite clear from my comment that the likelihood of me returning was nil lol I have added a nice photo from the area from the same day :)

After having the best seafood linguine for lunch at 35 Main Street, we fell in love with the view at Solva and spontaneously decided to stay overnight. Despite the short notice, Steve and the team were very accomodating and we ended up staying at Room 1. The room is cosy and has one of the most comfiest beds I have slept in, but the best part was the picturesque view from the balcony. Steve was the most incredible host who gave us a very warm welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. Steve is evidently very passionate and proud of his team and 35 Main Street, and for good reason. You won't get a more warm, welcoming and helpful team anywhere else in Solva. Dining and staying here is an absolute must. We hope to be back in the near future!

Let's start with the good bit, it's in a beautiful location. So now let's get to the nitty-gritty. I'm an ex chef, and while I never expect michelin food from anywhere, unless it holds a star or more, I do expect good food, good service and a decent menu. Sadly today was not it. First up we were given the wrong menu, which I have to say ticked all the right boxes, but we were informed the normal chef (I'm presuming patron), is on maternity leave and so we were given the cut down version. Now I have no idea as to how long the chef has been on maternity leave, but I'm presuming it's more than a day, so why give out the wrong menu?, and more importantly why not employ another chef for the interim? So to the scaled down version of the menu. Extremely basic, but still your staples, calimari, cod goujons, fish and chips, scampi, minute steak etc. Most of us ordered the minute steak as it sounded delicious, only for the waitress to inform us 10 minutes later that it had sold out! Ok no worries so we mostly went with the fish and chips (my fish was cooked beautifully), and scampi. Sadly it then took ages to arrive, I would have left by this time, but I was with friends, so I stayed. When the meal finally did arrive it looked great, huge piece of cod and very nice chips, but the nail in the coffin here was, "would you like any sauces"? Yes, tartare sauce please, "I'm sorry we've run out of tartare sauce" Even my wife who normally is super placid, said No! You cannot serve fish without tartare sauce. No apology, no offer to choose another dish, no discount offered, nothing. For a restaurant to underestimate the possible demands on their produce over an Easter bank holiday is beyond a school boy error it's pathetic. Even when I did complain, as innocuously as I could, still no apology, nothing! I certainly will never be patronising 35 again. Thanks for a rubbish...

Our disappointment stemmed from the fact that the website and the high price of the room create false expectations. We only stayed two of the three nights in the end, we were unwilling to put up with it any longer. ||||For Ā£85 per night we expected an en-suite bathroom (as stated), a serviced room, tea and coffee facilities, and a cooked breakfast. ||||It turned out the room was unserviced, which we were not told. It was no hardship to make our own bed but the waste bins were not emptied, and we had put apple cores and orange peel in it, and they began to smell. ||||You had to go down the corridor to a communal kitchen to make a cup of tea in the morning with all the other guests. There was no cooked breakfast, just a pathetic offering of stale cereal and limp toast. It wasn’t even a ā€˜Continental breakfast’ as listed in the room (but not on the website).||||As for the en suite, words fail me. It wasn’t a bathroom, it was a cupboard! The Mira shower itself was OK, but the basin was cloakroom-sized, and the Sani-flo loo was hardly fit for purpose. It groaned and moaned half way through the night, and finally went quiet about 3 a.m. It didn’t smell very good, and one had to flush several times to get the desired result. We were appalled. ||||Cups were washed in the dishwasher in the kitchen, but we really didn’t expect to have do that ourselves. ||||For an extra Ā£15 per night we could have gone up the road to the Cambrian Inn and had all the luxury, service and space one expects for that price. One couple did so, and said it was absolutely fabulous. ||||I strongly suggest they re-think their strategy, their website, and their prices at Felingog B&B in Solva. And their instructions in case...

I initially contacted the B&b by telephone and was politely booked in. I then called the following g day and was told by the owner that I needed to pay a deposit and that she had been away hence the slight confusion. I paid the deposit and received no confirmation of the money being processed as you would expect I chased this up and eventually received one. On arrival the cafe below was full and we were politely shown to our room and told that the wifi was not working so log into the pub next door, not a possibility on my latest iPhone as it did not see the wifi to connect to. The room was clean and basic. The staff member was very polite and helpful booking taxis and a real credit to the business. The following morning we ordered breakfast and were told cooked food is £5 extra per person, this was a surprise as we already were paying £80 for b&b which was sufficient for the standard of accommodation in my opinion. I paid and the owner forgot that we had paid a deposit, I politely reminded her. It generally appeared to be a little disorganised and in need of good leadership to me. We found two people on the evening trying to reach someone as they had arrived after 5pm and could not access their room something from what I have read is not uncommon. I do believe the staff I encountered are a credit...
