absolutely shocked after my visit today. i’ve never had any issues previously but after today they have lost paying costumers. To leave sharp knifes out on display where my 3 year old son was able to go up and grab one is absolutely horrifying. It takes 2 seconds for anyone let alone a child to grab and fall with one and immediately cause serious injuries. In a pub of drunk people and everythink else going on in the world, why hasnt this been taken into consideration? The team leader on shift was absolutely helpless!!!! she showed no consideration for my concern and told us that it was so people could help themselves to cake. i had to ask twice for something to be done about it. my argument is in such a commercial kitchen, why not have cake servers out? blunt cutlery to be able to use?? Team leader showed us attitude when she moved our table away from the knifes after i stated i was not comfortable sitting right next to them. The event finished at 11am so why is the food still out uncovered at 4:30pm? with flies also round the restaurant?? not only this but they messed our order about it’s only that i could show the receipt to show the desserts that they then rectified it for us. I told the staff i work in the food business myself I know they way things should be operated. Credit to the young lad on who was clearing tables and the chef’s themselves the food was lovely. but for the staff on floor and especially the team leader i am disgusted. the angry i feel that you would allow people to have access to such a risk. management seriously...
Read moreWe had a family meal for 18 tonight at the hussey arms and it's been a mixed bag of feelings. Claire the assistant manager is an absolute trooper, She's hard working and didn't stop all night, an absolute credit to the business. The food was great and came out very quickly, no complaints. The only thing that let the night down was when it came to paying. That being said this is the second time we have experienced this type of attitude from the bar staff when it's come to paying. We went up to the till and waited, the bar staff just ignored us one girl who I believe to be grace came out and we asked if we could pay. She grabbed a handful of glasses from the bar and told us to wait a minute followed by her rolling her eyes at us and walking away. I did say we'll we will just leave with out paying then. I had to go a find Clair to pay our bill whilst the rest of the staff hid in the glass wash room. Claire delt with the situation brilliantly but it didn't help when grace came back out of the glass wash room and shot me a dirty look. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the bar staff. This is also the same issue we experienced the last time we visited the hussey when we had asked several members of staff to take a payment and they all said no to us or ignored us. Read more10/7/21 We had booked a table for 5 for a family meal and was placed in a booth which wasn't exactly ideal , as one of our family members is old and struggled to get in and out of the booth. We used the app as requested to order the food and drinks, the food came out alarmingly quickly, and the chops were barely warm, The steak on the 12oz was supposed to have been medium rare, and was pretty much rare and had blood oozing out of the steak onto the plate. The sizzler dish had not had the selected sauce on it, we had to ask for it , which came out in a paper dish. Then we ordered a dessert which took almost 30 minutes to come out, I had to ask where it was and was told by a member of staff (management) they would sort it, it arrived moments later, we was offered complimentary drinks which declined, but I asked for a refund on the dessert, and was told it had been refunded, I still have you had confirmation of this and to say the least I nor my family will be returning ever again. If there was an option to give a minus star review it would have been a minus 4. I appreciate it was fairly busy but nothing compared to previous visits, and found the service disappointing.
