Iv been using Pepes ever since they have opened in Walsall after discovering them in Birmingham a few years ago Let’s start! Walked in today and noticed That the music wasn’t blaring as if your in a nightclub which was a good sign as I’m sure that a restriction must be in place regarding how loud music your allowed to play in a restaurant! My food order was taken by a pleasant gentleman who seemed very good at customer service unlike the franchisee/owner who always seems to be in a mood! Once ordered I asked him for a few alterations which was not a problem for him at all and he was happy to change my order (try ordering with a 6 and 3 year old you will understand!) After 10/15 minutes my order was done and we came home and can honestly say it was absolutely amazing!!!!! Everything was fresh and tasty done to exactly how we wanted! Each meal was done to how I asked it to be mild , hot and hot lemon flavours all amazing! I was that impressed that I called the store to thank them and ask the name of the gentleman who took my order! Tadeer your an asset to this store and the owner/franchisee should be happy to have someone like you because of you I definitely will be returning! Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to after how disappointed I was with my visit to this Pepe’s.
I ordered a large meal and paid extra for it, but was only given a regular drink. When I poured it into the large cup myself, it filled barely halfway — I even have a photo to prove it.
I also paid for extra mayo but was only given two mayo dips. When I politely asked for more (even offering to pay again), the lady — who I believe is the manager, Tahera Roza — gave me a look like I’d asked for something unreasonable. On top of that, there was hardly any mayo on my food to begin with.
We ended up waiting 32 minutes for our food, and no one mentioned it would take that long. If she had just told us it’d be over 30 minutes, we would’ve been more than happy to wait — we completely understand these things happen. But the lack of communication and her attitude made the experience really frustrating.
It was also hard to enjoy eating in because the manager kept shouting across the restaurant. I’ve even seen Uber Eats drivers arguing with her about wait times and attitude, so clearly this isn’t a one-off.
And to top it off, when I was leaving and tapped the Google review card near the counter, she said something in her own language — which felt rude and completely unprofessional.
This branch used to be my regular spot, but after today, I won’t be coming back. Really hope Pepe’s management...
