The Cat & Fiddle — Restaurant in Walsall

Came in here for the first time to watch the Euros with a friend who lives nearby and have to say for a local pub I was impressed. The place was clean and comfy, plenty of tvs so you could see the screen no matter where you’re sat, and the food was pleasantly enjoyable. The queue time was a bit long but it’s to be expected when you’ve got a huge match on so I don’t mind that and the staff were great, was in there for quite a while so saw a change in staff throughout the day and have to say they were all smiley, chatty, and welcoming. All except one. Older woman compared to the other barmaids and had a face like a sour lemon. Moody, miserable, and just plain old rude she was. Can’t even be blamed on the business as she was there before the game started so she’s got no excuse. She was curt and snappy, everytime I looked over at the bar she was yelling at someone whether it be other customers or even her own staff?? Brought it up with my mates and found they all think the same of her, moody cow 👍 heard she’s fairly new here so hopefully won’t stick round too long as she ruined the atmosphere for me. To any new comers I would recommend the cat and please enjoy this lovely little pub, maybe just give it a miss if you see her face slumped...

Well what can I say... I wanted to organise a surprise get together to include family and friends for my Husband's 40th birthday, and with the help of Dave we had the best day!! Dave reserved the whole of the pergola area outside for me, which was amazing as we had lovely weather, and he was always at hand to answer any questions, and I had many! The barmaids on the day/night were absolutely amazing! Constantly asking if we were ok, happy to help with anything and even served some drinks on the trays for me, ensuring all went smoothly which put me at ease. No stress, just a wonderful day and a lovely celebration. Food and drinks were great too, many had food as well as drinks and all were very impressed!! My Husband and everyone else had an amazing time so I would just like to say thank you to all at The Cat and Fiddle, you done a great job in helping me plan the best surprise day for my Husband. I would highly recommend to anyone! Lovely setting for a small or large get together with family and friends. Dog friendly and children friendly so suits all! Did not disappoint -...

We visited this evening for a birthday party with a large group. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, helpful, and incredibly accommodating.

Special thanks to Amy, who looked after us so well throughout the evening, she was friendly, attentive.

They had a sectioned-off area reserved for us, which worked perfectly, it gave our group a sense of space and privacy without feeling cut off from the atmosphere. The setup was ideal for mingling and worked well for both adults and kids.

The food was excellent, and generously portioned. Whilst there were a couple in the group that were unhappy, their expectations for a large party all ordering at once were unrealistic, and the team continued to remain professional and didn’t let this ruin the special occasion. It’s also worth noting that everything was very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality.
