Voujon Lounge — Restaurant in Walsall

I was traveling by narrow boat and moored up for the evening by Bentley bridge . Looked online for a takeaway and voujon lounge popped up. It was only a few minutes walk from the canal so decided to go there. I’m glad I did. The owner and staff were friendly, helpful and polite. I ordered chicken pakora starter which came with salad , mint raita, another spicy sauce and free poppadoms. For main course I had two lamb balti one with pilau rice and one with chips. As soon as I was handed the bag I thought that’s heavy there must be a lot of food in there. I wasn’t wrong , there was enough to feed 4 people. In fact two of us only ate half the food and that was ample. So we froze the rest for another day. So we got two meals for two people out of it for £27 . So good value. Under new management, excellent food and value for money. We took advantage of the special offer £10.95 per person which includes, poppadom and relishes, any starter, any main, any rice, chips or nan, now because we had this special I was under the impression that the meal portions would be smaller than the meal equivalent on the main menu because of the noticeable price difference, No, No, No, full size portions, more than enough, throw in excellent service, and very importantly NOT RUSHED between courses, not even when we had finished dining, and it all adds up to very enjoyable eating experience, will definitely visit again. Excellent meal, excellent service and a very reasonable price. The Voujon Lounge in Darlaston is under new management and is a slightly more compact restaurant than I remembered. Comfortable seating and not overcrowded, yet still quite busy which was reassuring. We dined in but they do offer both a takeaway and delivery service too. We had no long waits between courses and everything we ordered was piping hot and very tasty.
