We have been here before, and had a lovely meal, food was good quality and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, it was not this time the food was mediocre at best. We ordered 2 lamb shish and 1 mixed shish. I asked to swap the rice with chips as I do not eat rice or grains, to be told that they won't do that as they were throwing away far too much rice, and they could change it to bulger so I looked at the menu again to change my choice, but there was nothing else I wanted so I decided I wouldn't order anything. That went down well with my wife....not. It was only when my wife said she would not order and my son wouldn't either. Only then did the waitress go and speak to the manager to ask if we could change the rice to chips, so the manager came over and said for me, this time he could do that. The food came out, the lamb was overcooked and chewy, and one small piece of tortilla wrap, a warm tomato and a small salad bowl for 3 of us, and for the money I was disappointed to say the least, on the quality and service. To be honest, I would rather spend my money else where. Last time was really good, as I said, I feel they have shrunk portion sizes and the quality of their food but are still charging the same prices....

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Derwish Meze and BBQ Restaurant in Watford on a Sunday night, and I must say, it was a delightful experience!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and polite staff. The restaurant was also very clean, which made us feel comfortable and at ease.

While it wasn't very busy on the Sunday night we visited, we did struggle a bit to find parking close by. However, once we were seated and looking through the menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices.

The highlight of our meal was definitely the mixed grill, which consisted of lamb shish, chicken shish, and lamb cofta. All of the meats were expertly cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The accompanying fresh salad and homemade bread were also a delicious addition to the meal.

Overall, I highly recommend Derwish Meze and BBQ Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal in Watford. The friendly service, clean atmosphere, and mouth-watering food make it the perfect spot for...

Really enjoyed ourselves last night. My wife and I had the hot platter to start followed by minced lamb in bread with yoghurt and tomato sauce. Delicious. Pre-meal we had some really tasty, salt bread with either a yoghurty dip or spicy salsa dip (not too spicy. Just nicey spicy 😂), with a few olives thrown in.

I'll be honest, this bread, dip, olives and beer combo would have done me! So good. So moorish but so dangerous to the appetite with a whole meal still to come.

The restaurant is clean, tidy and not cramped. Could do with some parking though (is there any close by?). My wife said the toilet was clean and tidy.

Staff were friendly and polite. A goodbye when you leave would have been a nice touch though. Menu is varied (our copies were a bit tatty in actuality) and it was good value for money. As well as what's mentioned above I had x2 bottles of beer (½L each, and my wife a large glass of wine and with a discretionary service charge it came to less than £35 each.

Will come back and recommend you...

so happy we chose this restaurant to celebrate my mum's new job. the person who served us was amazing, absolutely excellent service - the best i've received in a long time. we couldn't get a table more inside the restaurant but we still received star treatment otherwise. the dishes were brilliant - we ordered chicken shish kebab with yoghurt and another sauce with rice, lamb shish kebab with yoghurt and rice, chicken special with chips, vine leaves, falafel, and halloumi. everything came with salad. we also had complementary bread and sauces (one slightly spicy, one garlic sauce, and olives) - i would have had lots more if i had a bigger stomach - and they gave us baklava for dessert. very reasonable - with drinks, it came to ~£14 per person and there is no service charge but they more than deserved a tip. 10/10 would recommend. looking forward to coming again.

Well I went with friends a few weeks back for Dinner @derwishwatford for a friend's birthday. Have to say the service was great and the food delicious 😋 So delicious in fact, that I started to eat and then remembered to photograph, hence one of the lamb chops missing the meat 😅😋 The sweet potato fries with it were also cooked to perfection. Its very reasonable and definitely worth a try if you're watford way. I tried my friends fish and a bit of the mixed kebab and all seasoned and cooked well. Had forgotten to photograph the starter but was also great! . . . . #foodbloggeruk #foodlover😍 #foodiegram #foodie #restaurantlover #restaurant #Turkish #lambchop #lambchopsfordinner #lambchops #sweetpotatofries #turkishfood #watford #watfordrestaurant #fishlover🐟 #fishandchips #mixedshish #salad
