This Authentic Thai Cuisine might be a little bit unconventional. I never imagined there was a Thai Cuisine inside Nascot Arms. Her location and visibility make hard for people to find this place.
It come as surprise to me the waitress rushed us a bit right before greetings us since they warned us we could stay but no longer than two hours because we hadn't´t booked a table in advanced. We understood we should of booked the table but a warning with two hours for two people may be beside the point.
In spite of this uncomfortable welcome, the service was obliging and charming once on our chairs. We asked a few question and they answered happily back. The food came in a reasonable time served on a hot dish which helps to keep the food warm for longer. Surprised for the amount of food, we´ve never had this big plate full of Thai Pad and the best was it was rich of flavors and taste. My eyes couldn't´t believe this portion and the taste. It did live up to our expectations. Once finished, we were extremely satisfied.
About the price, my girlfriend and me got baffled due to the low amount of money we spent after eating so much. This place is value for money.
Neatness is the other point I´d like to focus on due to my priorities when it comes to a restaurant. The place is neat and clean which makes you feel at ease when you´re eating.
All in all, having a go pays off and I´ll definitely...
Read moreI travel all over the world.I have visited Thailand many times and I am familiar with Thai cuisine. We have visited and enjoyed food at Mr Tings (Nascot Arms) pre covid. They reopened recently. We ordered Take away food for well over £100.00c and were looking forward to enjoying the food. A total disappointment. I ordered the following:
Menu No 10. X 2 Supposed to be Tom Yum soup. This was just two prawns, a small tomato, a mushroom cut into four. Just plain water and salt. They have no idea what Tom Yum soup is. I score -99 out of 100. The whole lot ended up in the bin.
Menu No 15. X1. What a disappointment. The whole serving ended up in the bin. Score 10 out of 100. No idea how to do this dish.
Menu SP8. X 1. What a joke. Two Mussles, two prawns, 4 uncooked, stale, raw Thai aubergiens, two peices of squid (OK) and coconut milk. Do they have any idea about Thai cuisine. Score 10 out of 100.
Menu 39. X 4. My ten year old grand child can cook better than this. Awful. All of it ended up in the bin. Noodles, prawns, chicken and just curry powder. Worst Singapore Noodles I have ever seen.
I do not honestly believe they have a Thai chef let alone a chef. The food had been prepared by someone who has no idea about food and certainly no clue about Thai food.
Will avoid this place like a plague. What a...
Read moreThe Nascot Arms is a friendly local pub with top quality Thai food.
A group of 13 of us visited the Nascot before the Watford v Middlesbrough match on Jan 14 2017. We're Boro supporters and we checked in advance that the pub welcomes away fans.
The pub is a short walk (maybe 5 minutes) from Watford Junction train station but a longer walk (15 minutes maybe) to Vicarage Road, the Watford ground.
Walking into the pub you have a cosy main bar area (split roughly into two) with a partition that leads to the large Thai restaurant.
There are numerous large screen TVs and a couple of projector screens showing sports channels. The sound was off on the TVs when we were there, which meant the TVs didn't detract from conversation.
There are 3 or 4 real ales on tap that are well kept.
Although you can eat at your table in the bar we booked a table for 13 in the Thai restaurant area. Food was reasonably priced (we just had main course - average price £11 for 13 people), delicious and served in generous portions.
We enjoyed our time in the pub so much that we went out of our way to have a few drinks there in the early evening before catching the train back home. The pub was full of people, including kids, many of whom were...
