We, a family of two grandparents, the mother and two grandchildren went into the Estcourt Tavern, Watford, quite late after a birthday visit to Harry Potter World. We were politely informed that the children would need to be out hy 9pm. We agreed as there seemed enough time to eat a much needed meal. The meals were fairly quickly prepared and served and were very good. The children left with their mother for bed. My wife and I stayed a little longer. The manager came over to help clear the table and we told her the reason for our trip. Read moreThe pub is cute and staff were ok but the food was not good. I ordered the cheesy garlic ciabatta but it was basically bread roll, soggy and the cheese was only just melted. I assume it had been microwaved rather than toasted under a grill. The croquettes were three tiny balls and not your normal croquettes they were edible but only just. Steaks were supposed to be pink but were well done. Food took a long time to come out and I think it was sitting round for a while before getting to us as it was tepid. Wasn't even very busy.
