Happy Palace Watford Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in Watford

WORST FOOD I HAVE EVER TRIED . Since my local chinese has closed I am having trouble finding a good curry sauce. After reading the reviews on here about the Happy Palace I thought I would try theirs. I bought curry sauces x 3 (to add to beef I had previously purchased) egg fried rice x 2 and some prawn crackers. All I can say is what a waste of money. It was disgusting, it all went in the bin. The rice was stodgy, prawn crackers tasted so stale and as for the sauce, god alone knows what it was as it definatly didn't taste like any curry sauce I have ever encountered , look at the colour !!!! Will definatly never go back there and will take any reviews with a pinch of salt now as the ones about here...

I was walking from Apsley to Camden Lock and stayed at Premier inn and this place is around the corner. I always get Sweet and Sour Port when I visit a new Chinese restaurant. It was an excellent choice with steamed whit rice. There was a great choice on the menu and my son got something I think with Tofu which was also excellent. I got the idea the cook was from Hong Kong or similar which always makes a difference. We took our takeaway back to Premier Inn and ate it with a drink from their Pub at the table just outside of the pub . If I lived in Watford , this would be one of my go to take...

Run of mill take away, which is fine, no expectations there. Ordered Malaysian spicy chicken dish and egg fried rice. The chicken dish was large, but the sauce was so gloopy and bland. I expected a spicy colourful dish concoction given not many other takeaways have Malaysian choices. Large boiled pieces of chicken that I just couldn't bring myself to eat, wonder how much MSG was in it. Disgusting. Egg fried rice was also lumpy and tasteless.
