I've ordered from here a bunch of times in the past and the food isn't that bad, and neither are the prices, so I just visited for the first time to sit for a pint with my wife and I think I'll just stick to ordering from home from now on.
Greeted at the door by three people, all very well and nice.
Proceeded to find a table and have a seat, then one of the three at the door came and asked if we had a reservation. We said no, we were just driving by and thought we could do pop in for a bite to eat.
He said we couldn't sit there. It was reserved.
Umm, okay. Where can we sit then?
Follow me please.
(IF WE CAN'T SIT WHEREVER WE WANT, THEN ONE OF YOU SHOULD ASK US IF WE HAVE A RESERVATION WHEN WE WALK IN)
We were seated at the super back. We said we'd like a window. He said no.
At this point I'd like to point out that there's approximately 30 tables I believe? There was only ONE couple seated.
THE PLACE WAS EMPTY!
That alone was enough to make me feel like "WTH'S THE PROBLEM?"...
We went for burgers.
Changed our mind. Just had some fries, dessert, coffee, e.t.c and then went to the next pub round the corner for dinner.
When we left there were 3 tables seated. 20+ tables were free, and we had to sit in the back. So stupid imho.
If we were able to make a reservation on line of on Google in order to get a better table, LET US KNOW, AND I'LL BOOK IT THEN AND THERE. But simply saying that you have to sit there in the back is very off putting.
Coffee was good, dessert was too. Fries weren't bad either. Just the silliness of the seating...
Read moreI visited on Friday 17th May. I’d booked a table for 4, but we ended up being 5. I politely asked the manager (Phil) if they could make it a table for 5 as it wasn’t busy- apparently not. Could we add an extra chair- apparently not ( health and safety). Then we were asked if at least one of us was over 18. We’re all 17 year old girls- we were honest. . Apparently there’s a new policy that we need to be 18 in case we buy alcohol although we said to him none of us were planning on drinking as we don’t drink. We come here often as it’s local, never been a problem when being seated by any other worker. He agreed to “let us off one last time”. Once we were seated we asked our waitress if this is a normal policy and she said no this has never been an issue especially if you guys are 17!At the table there was clearly a space to squeeze another chair without being in anyone’s way- after two people sharing one chair for 15 minutes , we asked again if we could put the chair on the side- he finally agreed and said yes only when we got an adult involved but he said if we were to move the chair any further “ I would have to tell you to leave”. There were plenty of tables and the group of 3 next to us was given a table of 8! No idea why the manager on duty was so awful and disrespectful - perhaps because we were young ladies , perhaps it made him feel like the bigger person- was happy to take our...
Read moreWas told there wasn't tables available until 8pm (75mins time), walked back out website and looked on Harvester website, and was able to book one for 20 mins later! We returned to restaurant and said we'd sit in the bar and the chap said he'd get the table ready - we waited and waited and he never came to get us, so we found him, 15mins after our time our table should of been ready.
Whilst at the bar we ordered two fizzy drinks, and the syrup had gone. We didn't really get an apology, or them refilled, just got told to walk to the restaurant and go and get them from the refill machine.
When asked at the bar for baby change facility, the lad behind the bar had no clue where it was and had to ask a colleague (who was dining in the bar) where it was located. And then I just got told at the back of the pub - no real care, attention given by him.
Salad bar very sparse, there was signs explaining but would of been very disappointed if I had paid for it.
Kids main meals came wrong, but kids were hungry and just accepted the meals as didn't want to wait for replacement.
Meals in general as expected, and server for them was very pleasant.
Sad 2 minute silence wasn't observed in memory of...
