Stopped by O'Neill's in Watford for dinner. I ordered the Cheese and Bacon with chips and washed it down with a pint of cold Guinness. This pub and grub had a warm ambiance about it. The relatively soft lighting was perfect for this type of pub. The Irish and Gaelic items on display uplifted the atmosphere with Irish flair. COVID naturally has placed a damper on most businesses and unfortunately that's why I gave this pub four stars instead of five. Although the pub sprayed and wiped down tables after they were used by patrons, and had taken precautions to keep patrons distanced from one another. The workers themselves, from what I observed, didn't wear any masks to drive down the risk of spreading COVID. In spite of this one thing, I would definitely come back again given how much effort they put into combating the virus during these challenging times.

Was here to celebrate a colleague leaving party. Overall night was fun, front drinking area not too bad and food was actually quite tasty.. However: 1) drinks are expensive and you can get a better buck elsewhere 2) While the burger was big and worth the £11, the started mushrooms.... £6 for 5-8? Expensive 3) Bouncers kicking us out for, cheering one of us downing a pint? I mean, that's normal for a pub at 21:00??? No neighbors, it's a Friday, it's a normal night...... And it's not like we've been roudy all night/evening, most of the evening we were just talking at normal volume and we stuck to our tables all night. What a shame, spend so much money and then kicked up for being a normal pub crowd. If you can't stand people cheering, then don't work at a pub. That simple.

Part 2:- ARROWSMITHS We had no idea this was open when we walked into O’Neills next to Watford Junction. Luckily we managed to grab a booth on a Saturday night but would definitely book to avoid disappointment. Prices start from £8pp for 90 mins but we paid around £11pp for peak. Atmosphere was great, decor fantastic, use a light switch for table service. Great selection of interactive games. Part one Right next to Watford Junction station, so a great pit stop if your are heading to or from London. Loads of seating indoor and out. Food was great. We ordered some wraps and for the kids ice creams and fish Goujons. All was good.

My experience at the Euro 2020 final as a customer was awful from start to finish. First off, I have called the pub 5 times over the past 2 weeks and only answered twice. I was strictly told the pub was only taking walk ins on the day and that I had to get there at 10am to reserve my spot as it was first come first serve. But when we arrived at 10:05, I was told it was reservations and they only had 1 table left for walk in, of 3 available. We had breakfast, lunch, multiple drinks and shots from 10am to 5:30pm, spending hundreds of pounds in your facility.

It was honestly some of the worst service I’ve ever had. Drinks took a 30+ minutes to arrive and were slammed on table with attitude. We were never asked if the food or drink was okay, the dirty plates and glasses were left for hours, and the sauces were snatched from us by the same waiter without asking if we still needed or wanted them.

At 5:30, the management and bouncer approached the 3 tables who had been there since 10am (including us), demanding that they leave the pub. Everyone was up in arms. The management said they had put the bookings in wrong on the system and therefore double booked. Of course, we were not willing to leave because of the pubs mistake, especially as we were told first come, and had been there since 10am to secure our seat.

I tried to speak to the manager, Ellie, about how upset I was in a separate room but she wouldn’t give me the time of day, saying ‘I have around 50 pints to pour so I cannot listen to you’. Now this is what I call customer service…….

Eventually we were moved to an uncomfortable bench in a different room; why we couldn’t have the better / more comfortable seat seeing as we were there firsts there still perplexed me. There was a feeling that you had to be a regular to be treated like a human being.

We continued to order drinks, and they took hours to come. We would chase them multiple times and eventually the Manager, Ellie, said you can have a round of drinks that took over an hour to come, for free as an apology…. but we later found out were charged the £20.15 anyway.

The screens were brilliant and the atmosphere from the customers was great. It’s such a shame this place is completely mismanaged as I would have enjoyed myself throughly and returned. But I can honestly say this is the worst service I have ever received. From someone who has spent customers in customer service, it does not take a lot to at least hear out an upset customer and apologise or offer to meet half way. We would not have spent the hundreds we did, had we have known how unwanted we would be made to feel.

I emailed their complaints team on 11th July… and am yet to...

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at all at the oneils bar. Yesterday I was going to watch the football and so thought that it was a nice pub to go into to get a pint or two before the game. As I’ve gone up to the bar I can see people around 16 to 17 getting served drinks without any ID being asked for. As I went up to get a pint however I got asked for ID (not an issue at all obviously got to do their job) to which I gave them my provisional driving license with my birthdate of 16th October 2005 (I have now been 18 for just under 2 months). When I gave it to the lady (who had dyed pink hair) she then proceeded to take my identification and start bending it to check. She then comes back around a minute later to make me aware she is not serving me due to the fact she believes it is fake. I made her aware that I got it around a year ago when I first started driving and also provided her with a birth certificate which had all the information to prove that I am in fact 18 however, quite rudely she said she would not be serving me and to go away. After this I was a bit frustrated due to the way I’ve been treated in there and so I asked for them to scan my ID again to which they all stood there and were saying no and being quite rude to me. When I asked if I could have a look as I did believe them to be lying as it is a dvlsa driving licence they told me no. A little bit later I have the manager come up to me and ask me to step outside with her quickly (which felt to me like I was back in school) to which she said then moaned at me for being frustrated at the staff. From that I explained my reason as to why I was so frustrated after being falsely accused of carrying a fake ID to which she would not listen and when I got up all the information to prove I wasn’t lying including the order confirmation for my identification from last year she then told me that it was in fact real now but I wasn’t getting served because apparently I was rude. At 18 when I’ve provided ID as well as all information I should not be accused of it being fake especially when a lot of other people who looked to be younger were not even getting ID at all. Do not recommend and if you want a cheaper, more friendly bar there is a weatherspoons up the road who are a lot more welcoming and a lot cheaper pints. Not...

from the start we had come through to Euston from Worthing and decided to take a detour to Watford as it is know for its beautiful architecture, and to pure expectations the beautiful building that towers over the station known as O’Neill’s is standing there like a golden gate in our presence, on entering the building we are approached with very welcoming faces each describing a wonderful experience. We had to social distance. We had to abide to government rules and we had to sanitise upon enter, however these rules were since forgotten once we had the pleasure of experiencing the great service given from the hardworking staff at O’Neill’s Watford. There is nothing at all we can fault them for, the pints are exceptionally quenching and the food is as fresh as a breeze of air in the highlands. I would recommend this bar to anyone in the London area as it is easy to get to and you can avoid the busy overcrowded bars and go strait into a classy, spontaneous, mellow environment and enjoy and actual beer in an actual bar without...
