Borelli's Wine Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Waverley

Entered the bar was greeted by 3 staff all with smiles and eager. It was very quiet i thought to myself why is this place so quiet. It must be bad. I asked to look at the cocktail menu. After looking I noticed nagroni wasn't on the menu. The manager (Martin) Asked if anything I was looking for in perticular. He explained he couldn't make a classic Nagroni. Due to not having Campari. He did offer to make it using Aperol. I was skeptical but wow. Best I've ever had. I've paid £25 for rubbish cocktails in London. This was £7.... yes it was during happy hour I might add but only £9 any other time. We had pizza we couldn't finish. Again the food was so spectacular I had to take it away. I come here years ago the food, service and staff are leagues apart. Anyone looking for a date night speak to Martini Martin he'll sort you the best cocktails in Farnham. I don't ever review and I felt I had too so people can go check out the fantastic tucked away little bar. Seriously though it don't make sense with the amazing food and a mixology master at the helm. Ordered king prawn and avocado salad, was served shimps in a pink mayonnaise sauce on some shredded lettuce. Pointed out to the server who was very polite and corrected my order to receive two tasteless king prawns with very little effort to dressing and one sliver of avo. Fair to say I would never recommend this otherwise quaint little place. My partner ordered the king prawn pasta which was very very fishy. Although he did enjoy it. But I think that because he was tipsy and hungry, opposed to quality from what I tasted. Also ordered a flat bread which was floppy and cheesy, may as well have been a toasted cheese. They didn't have any sweet chilli sauce to make it palatable. Left half of that.

Such a shame because I do like the bar downstairs, the food is just very undesirable and looks nothing like what is pictured on their website.

Later noted we were also over charged once home as I ordered a starter and got charged mains. It no wonder there is no wait for a table or need to book.

2 months ago I said this was the perfect place to go. Tonight I want to say: what an awful experience. It was 6pm, everyone was enjoying a lovely night, just as Boris had informed us we were in lock down again (and that's ok) and the owner sat armed with the remote control with God status, and post the Boris announcement we were subjected to it again. Everyone was enjoying the music and food and wham....the god squad with his remote arrived. Appalling. Thank you to the young guys in the corner and the veteran who had the guts to stand up for sense!! The behaviour of the owner and the guy with the designer beard was embarrassing for Borelli's.
