Simpsons Chicken — Restaurant in Wealden

I've never been a fan of the amerikun "K" brand of fried chicken and for this reason I tried my luck at Simpsons, located on Hailsham's High Street. Whilst the greeting I received was somewhere between lukewarm and brain-dead, I found the chicken to be precisely as it should - crispy on the outside and moist & flavourful on the inside. Well worth the visit despite the parking challenges the high street presents. I wrote this initial review approximately 5 years ago and am updating it now, confirming the fact that I quite enjoy their chicken. The staff have always been polite and friendly towards me and the chicken has been consistently lovely. The men who serve me work professionally and ensure I'm well served. The chicken is always hot and the product is just how I like it: crispy and flavourful skin and most, tender chicken inside. Over the years the staff have come to anticipate my needs and work hard to ensure I receive what I enjoy most. Have just ordered from Simpsons Chicken and paid!!!!!!! But they are telling me they have not recieved my order, after I have had confirmation my order was placed. Now they are telling me they have recieved absolutely nothing from me in the way of an order BUT will give me a refund in 3 days!!!! Why do I think I am being taken for an idiot?????? I have proof of receipt of order and proof of payment and they are still saying we haven't ordered anything. So will definitely not be ordering from here again and MOST DEFINITELY WILL NOT...

Its turned crap, theres always stuff missing and the food is cold. It used to be good up until about 6 months ago but has really gone downhill. The food quality is now awful and it always comes 30min - 1hr late. When it does come, it's always cold with something missing. When you ring up to tell them they just say, "next time u order we'll give u something extra. I'm not really interested in that, I'd rather get what I ordered and paid for, especially when we have guests round and it's already...
